About the home

Straight onto the beach! A beachside bungalow converted from an early 1900's southern railway carriage. Extended to provide cosy accommodation, with an easy living, open plan living room which has wall to wall windows overlooking the beach and sea. Has a beach side patio, a private sun bathing patio and parking for 2-3 cars. You can have your feet in the sea within seconds of leaving the patio. Remove yourself from the rush of daily life and enjoy a totally quite location with hardly ever more than a dozen people on the beach, even in high season. Ideal for relaxing 'get away from it all holiday', swimming, fishing, and winter bird watching. You can even try catching local shrimp for your tea.

The property has three small bedrooms with a 4'6" bed, a 4' bed and a 3' single bed. There is also a fold out futon bed in the living room. There is gas central heating to radiators and hot water on demand for the kitchen, toilet and shower room. All windows are fully double glazed.

The kitchen is well equipped including a double oven and microwave. The living room has 32" TV with Freeview, TV recorder and DVD player. There are books to read and games to play.

Outside there is a charcoal BBQ, garden seats and two sun loungers.

The South East England / Sussex region

Pagham beach is midway between the Victorian resort of Bognor Regis and the fishing town of Selsy; Bognor having been registered as having the most hours of sunshine in England. Once you turn off the A27 and head towards Pagham you seem to travel back in time to when British beach holidays were in vogue. The beach is seldom crowded, if you can call 20-30 people in a 100 yard stretch - crowded! Having direct beach access, it feels almost as though you have your own private beach. Pagham has a few shops, pubs, restaurants and take-aways. A small amusement arcade for the younger children to spend their pennies (focuses on 'old-time' amusement arcade machines). There is an active sailing club with the club house just 20 houses away. Pagham harbour, is aglorious wetland area and is just a few minutes walk along the beach. It is home to many coastal birds and during the winter months a bird hide is open use by those wishing to watch the many waders and the odd seal.

The Bognor Regis / Pagham area

Pagham is close to Bognor Regis for all your victorian seaside delights, Chichester for city shopping, culture and entertainment, Portsmouth with its navel base and viewing tower is a short drive away and glorious Goodwood is an easy day out be it for the horse racing, motor racing or beautiful Goodwood House. Fontwell racecourse is also close by. Being a tourist area there are also many other attractions and ideas for days out.

“Great find” We came here in March, having hoped at the time of booking it would be spring and we'd have a sunny weekend on the beach. In the event, it was still mid-winter with remnants of snow on the South Downs and wind and rain on the coast. But we still had a fantastic weekend because this place is just so nice - as described, cosy and clean, with a lovely welcoming atmosphere. If anything, the interior is nicer than it looks in the photos, and the view of the sea is just amazing. You get the feeling the owners really want you to enjoy your stay at Moonshine. If you go with realistic expectations - this is the South Coast of England, not the Italian riviera; it is a little chalet on the beach, not a palace - I can't see how you could be disappointed.

“Absolutely beautiful” I rented the beach house for the weekend for my partners birthday in July 2011, I'd been there a few years before and it was just as beautiful as I remember. it was a complete surprise to my partner as he had no idea what we were doing or where we were going and I honestly couldn't of been happier with the reaction I got. We drove up the small lane to get to the front of the bungalow and he was rather surprised when I told him to pull into the driveway. Everything is very well presented from the front view of the property but it doesn't prepare you for what your about to walk into. The inside of the bungalow is beautiful, everything is exactly how you would expect it to be if you were going away for the weekend. The kitchen was fully packed with everything you'd need to cook a meal and everything was clean, neatly presented and ready to use. You can easily access the bathroom and separate toilet from the main entrance. They both were also very clean and tidy. Once inside the main living area the wow factor was yet to come as all the main blindes were down so you couldn't see the stunning views. The space is perfect, great sitting area where you can sit and read or watch tv and also a dinning area where you can sit as a large family comfortably. On either side of the main living area there are two decent sized double bedrooms. I generally have trouble sleeping in unfamiliar places but this wasn't the case here. It's very hard not to be at ease and relaxed with the surroundings. If you haven't already fallen in love with this property then once those french doors and blinds are open I don't think you can help it! There is a decked area which is perfect for sunbathing! You literally take one step off the decking and your actually on the beach. I think if you were any closer you'd be in trouble of flooding! It's a pebbled beach which wouldn't usually be my normal choice but it was very clean compared to some of the other beach destinations I've visited within the UK! The neighbours and people we came in contact with (very few as it's a very quiet place and definitely ideal if you want a romantic weekend or just to get away) were very friendly. I honestly don't have a single bad word to say about this place, it was perfect. We will definitely be going back and would definitely recommend it to anyone that needs to see something beautiful or someone who just wants to get away and relax!
