We have an information pack that will be posted out to you including directions to the apartment recommended restaurants, beaches and so on.
The Famagusta District
The property is located approximately 47k / 40 mins from the Ercan airport and 25 mins from Famagusta. A stones throw from the beach, 5 mins from the supermarket and the lovely peaceful fishing village of Bogaz with numerous well recommended restaurants. The North of the Island is great to explore with so much history and many ruins dating back hundreds of years the beaches like the rest of the island are untouched and so are never over crowded.
The old walled city of Famagusta, the inspiration for Shakespeare's Othello known as the Citadel still stands. During the 13th century, the city was the wealthiest on earth. Within the city walls lies the the Lala Mustafa Pasa Camii, which was formally St Nicholas Cathedral. This is one of the most spectacular Lusignan monuments in the town. Now a thriving university town, there are many shops and restaurants in the area which serve a variety of goods that you will not find back at home.
The Glapsides beach, a 10 minute drive from the city is ideal for children & non swimmers. The sand is fine, and the crystal clear water calm and shallow for a considerable distance out. In the summer, Jet skis and pedaloes are also available for hire and the Glapsides bar hosts a disco each evening.
On the road to Famagusta, you will find the ancient ruins of Salamis. This most important ancient city of Cyprus remains the island's most prominent archaeological site. There is much to see here including the mosaic paved gymnasium, fresco-adorned walls of the baths, amphitheatre and the Royal Tombs. Roman and Byzantine monuments decorate the site, which was the first place in Cyprus to mint coinage. A truly breathtaking place!
The Kyrenia District
Kyrenia the main tourist town is located an hours drive away with plenty of shops to browse and many a deal to be had for gold jewellery. Or try the shops of Nicosia. Designer brands such as Karen Millen & Burberry are made in factories in North Cyprus. One factory outlet store, Nalken, stocks the latest high street branded goods for a fraction of the price you'd pay back in the U.K. Imitations are also available in the old town market stores.
If shopping and lazing around the pool aren't your thing then why not visit the Kyrenia Animal Rescue Centre (KAR) nestled in the five fingure mountains. After a guided tour around the centre you can take one of the rescue dogs out for a walk along one of the footpaths that lead you into the mountains.
We recommend that you also take time to visit: Buffavento Castle, Kyrenia Castle and Kyrenia Harbour and Bellapais Abby.
The gothic abbey at Bellapais dates back to 1198, and is a must see landmark during your visit to North Cyprus. As well as the history of the Abbey itself, the area is also famous for past residents, which include Laurence Durrell who lived in the village during the 1950s. The idyllic days he described in his book "Bitter Lemons of Cyprus" may be long gone, but the "Tree of Idleness" remains. Like the castle in Kyrenia, the Abbey at Bellapais has also hosted world famous performers such as The Three Tenors, and hosts the annual North Cyprus Music Festival.
A visit to Saint Hilarion Castle in the Five Finger Mountains is a must. Not only does the castle provide breath taking views of the island, the mystical remains and hidden rooms and tunnels are yours to explore. The castle was rumoured to be the inspiration for Walt Disney's Sleeping Beauty Castle, so why not take a bottle of water with you and say you've seen the original! The castle is open in the morning until 1pm in the summer months, so be sure to get there early to avoid the midday heat.
A number of organised boat trips leave from Kyrenia old harbour, and provide the opportunity for you to view the island from the sea. These trips provide the opportunity to view the island coast, not possible by car alone. Ample opportunity is provided to swim in the depths of the Mediterranean, and taking a snorkel is advisable.. The world's oldest shipwreck was found off the shores of Cyprus. All day trips serve a BBQ fish lunch.
In the village of Bogaz there is a small harbour, a children's play park and numerous restaurants. The Bogaz Hotel Restaurant on the beach offers live music most nights.
There is a superb little restaurant at Sunrise Beach Club, by the pool, which offers both English and Cypriot dishes. By day it doubles as a cafe serving breakfast, lunch and refreshments. The waiter is also on hand to serve your refreshments by the pool so you will have no reason to leave the comfort of your sun lounger!
There is now a gym, sauna and club room on site.
There are some great beaches with all of your usual water sport activities located at Salamis and Bafra a short drive in either direction along the coast. The shoreline at the resort is still very much untouched and so most prefer to spend their time by the pool on those non adventurous lazy days at Sunrise Beach Club.
If diving is your thing or you would like to have a crack at it there are numerous dive centres around. They are virtually all PADI qualified and so can offer the full range of PADI courses. Just ask when booking and we will send you their contact information.

"Relaxing, quiet, comfortable and well equiped apartment in a modern clean complex"
My wife, Joanne and I stayed at the apartment between the 21st and the 28th of April 2013. This was at the start of the tourist season so the climate was similar to the UK summer (20-25 deg C) and very comfortable for those who don't like too much heat which can reach the 40's in the height of the summer. The apartment was very clean and tidy and contained everything needed for an enjoyable stay. The roof top terrace is excellent, my wife and I enjoyed some lovely late night BBQ's with locally bought food from the 'LEMAR' supermarket on the outskirts of Bogaz village. The 24 hour management sited within the Sunrise complex were very helpful with no request being too much trouble. It took between 40-60 minutes transfer from Larnaca Airport to the Sunrise Beach Club including a 5 minute stop at the boarder crossing between Southern and Norhtern Cyprus, where visitors are issued with a temporary Turkish Visa. We would recommend visitors staying in Bogaz make use of a hire car, hired in Northern Cyprus to make the best of your stay. There is a wealth of local attractions well worth seeing but do involve a short car journey or longer, dependant on the areas you wish to visit. The locals are very helpful, on the odd occasion local ex-pats now living in Northern Cyprus will offer to give you a lift and are often very informative about local eateries and tourist attractions. In addition, the owner of the apartment had had put together a welcome and information pack which was very useful and is worth a look on arrival at the apartment. The location is ideally suited to those who don't want all the noise from clubs, bars, etc found in the more livelier resorts which often don't fall silent until the early hours. We would recommend the complex to young families or the more mature visitor wanting a more relaxed, quiet and sun kissed holiday.

"Very peaceful,relaxing holiday"
Spacious very comfortable apartment with great views from the roof terrace. The apartment was also very clean and well equipt. The pools and gardens were well maitained and the staff very helpful. Could have done with a few more sunshades.
Thank you for your positive review. I have noted your comments regarding sunshades and will see what we can organise. I suspect that you are referring to the pool area as there is already a parasol for the two lounger on the roof terrace of the apartment. Thanks again, Sara
