The Turquoise Coast/Lycia region

Attracting settlers for the last 3000 years, Bodrum remains one of the UK's most visited destinations in Europe. With its mild climate and cool afternoon breeze blowing across the Turquoise and the Aegean Sea you will feel a constant sense of invigoration and refreshment. The centrepiece of the town is St Peter's Castle which overlooks the harbour and the palm lined boulevard with its impressive collection of sailing boats. You will find plenty of activity to keep you busy.
The Bodrum / Yalikavak area
Yalikavak near the harbour is a local fishing town, which has been a hive of culture and activity during the last 10 years. There is a beach stretching into the horizon and a selection of restaurants and bars in the town centre and along the seafront serving fresh local caught food. Allow yourself to be charmed by the town centre with its cobbled streets and characteristic buildings and street cafes. There is also a weekly market on Thursdays.

We had booked to stay at this villa, my partner, myself and 4 children and were really looking forward to the break away, but when we looked at details again and saw the one review, we felt very nervous as to what we would find as not a very good review, but when we got there we were SO happy with everything, it is a little bit of a walk up with small children but nothing to grumble about, and my kids managed it. WELL worth it, especially with those views. Everyone so friendly and the view and pools are just out of this world (so much better in person) The inside was comfortable and homely, exactly what I expected a Turkish villa to be like. We didnt use the studio often only for use of the toilet when at poolside. But we loved it and will definatly be back again. Hopefully in 2013 now as all of summer is booked for this year unfortunatly for us. Thanks so much to the owners of Bilimyali!! xx |

I was totally disgusted at this property. It is advertised as a triplex, but triplex means access to 3 levels from one point. The studio is overgrown with plants and looks nothing like the photos here. There is narrow steps leading to the main entrance of the villa which again the path is overgrown with plants. You do get lovely sea views, but you have to be prepared to climb two hills to access the complex. The marine and centre are a good 25 minutes walk. The studio is not fit to have anybody sleeping there. There is limited wardrobe space throughout the property, so take minimum clothes or be prepared to live out your suitcase. The family bathroom in the studio reminded me of my back packing days 20 years ago. The complex is predominantly Turkish residents who are not happy about the fact this is rented out during summer. We were at an advantage as my husband is turkish we found out a lot of information and the owners, Sue and Colin assured the residents they had bought this for their own enjoyment and not to rent out, so there is currently ongoing complaints about this. When we arrived it certainly was not cleaned to the standard you would expect. There was no hot water and the washing machine was broke, we managed to sort that out, but we should not have had to do this. This has been the only time I have been on holiday where I was counting the days to leave. No air conditioning so be prepared to be extremely hot depending on the time of year you go. I would not recommend this property and what you pay for it, is not worth it, when you can get more for your money elsewhere. PS when we arrived I did phone the owners about some of the issues, and they could not even be bothered to phone me back. I had to wait until I came home to inform them of my dissatisfaction and what they offered in terms of a refund was an insult. |

stayed at bilimyali 2 weeks commencing 24/6/11. The property has superb views. It is a fair climb to the villa if walking, but definitely worth it to have the views. Property was adequate for our needs. I think maybe the ground floor studio apartment may not have been used for a while as it had a musty smell to it, so didn`t use this space,as it wasn`t required it was no problem. Pool area exceptionally clean and well kept garden areas, lovely relaxing pool, felt like it was our own most of the stay. No air conditioning available, may have been a problem had it not been quite windy, been to yalikavak last 12 years, it is a breezy area but this year was exceptionally windy. Would definitely return. Many thanks. Response: We have owned this property for six years and this is the first time we have rented out right throught the summer, due to the fact that we had a very close death in the family and was unable to have our vacation there this year and to make sure it is up to standard. I think you will find that most triplex villas are usually two seperate enterances which is also stated in the advert. There are double wardrobes with two draws underneath in both bedrooms and a walk in wardbobe in the studio. As for not replying to the complaints concerned I had emailed from my phone explaining that we were away from our house for a few weeks and that I would contact as soon as I was able. I feel sorry that party were dissapointed but still feel that the cost of villa is still very cheap compared to others in area. |
