BookThe Turquoise Coast/Lycia region
Turkey is the perfect holiday destination - with one foot in the East and one in the West, it’s an explosion of cultures and influences. Ottoman mosques rub shoulders with Roman temples. Spice markets sit alongside chic boutiques. And dramatic mountains sweep down to sun-baked beaches.
The Turquoise coast is particularly beautiful and renowned for its stunning sunsets and stunning views.
This part of Turkey is particularly rich in culture. Bodrum boast the Mausoleum of Halicarnassus, one of the 7 wonders of the ancient world. There are Roman remains at Lasos, which is just across the bay from Gulluk. Ephesus is just a 2 hour drive away and on the way you can stop at Euromos to see its temple of Zeus. Pamukkale is also reachable but an overnight stay is recommended.
The Bodrum Peninsula on the Aegean Coast is delightful. There are many charming fishing villages and beach resorts to visit along the coast.
The activities offered in the local area are endless including; golf, fishing, sailing, windsurfing, horse riding, swimming with dolphins, Water Park, jeep safaris, rafting, diving, boat trips and much more.
Being outside of the EU there has never been a better time to visit Turkey. The Turkish Lira offers good value and there are competitively priced carriers offering competitive rates.
The Bodrum / Gulluk area
Gulluk has it all with a pretty seafront, bars, restaurants, beach bars and beach clubs. There is a full range of restaurants to cater for everyone’s tastes.
The locals are truly wonderful people and make you welcome at every opportunity. There are often celebrations and events taking place in the main square, providing a really special experience and true taste of Turkey.
Boat trips are available from the marina on a daily basis and boats can be chartered for longer periods if required. These are very well priced and often include lunch and refreshments.
Gulluk has very good transport links via Dolmus (Buses) to all the surrounding towns and villages including Bodrum, enabling you to really see and explore this beautiful part of Turkey.
There is a weekly market in Gulluk, which sells everything: Fresh fruit, vegetables, dried fruit, nuts, spices, clothes and gifts. Well worth a visit.
Local shops provide for all your daily requirements. There is a Migros supermarket in the town for anything else you may require during your stay.
Bodrum is a magical bustling place. It has an internationally renowned marina and is overlooked by St Peters Castle. It offers something for everyone. There are a great many restaurants along the front as well as in the cobble stoned backstreets. White washed buildings adorn the streets and overlook the marina.
There are a lot of shops and boutiques selling everything from local jewellery and trinkets to clothing and high end gifts. Bodrum also provides tremendous nightlife for those who like to stay up late. It is truly a fantastic place to be enjoyed by everyone!

My husband & I stayed at Beach Residence, Gulluk with another couple. We really liked Gulluk and found it to be primarily a little fishing port and not overly touristy. Very close to the airport (although no noise disturbance) Gulluk is well placed to visit the Bodrum peninsula or travel in other directions. The apartment was easily found just a few minutes drive out of town and very close to a little beach. Obtaining the key required a phonecall when we arrived (which could have been a problem if we didn't have one with us that could be used abroad) and the chap arrived within a couple of minutes. The apartment was clean and tidy when we arrived and everything was in good working order. Good sized bedrooms (one double and one with twin beds with the standard Turkish firm mattresses!) with a good air conditioning system in each and a shower/toilet for each room. The kitchen had most items you would expect to find including a dishwasher and washing machine. Although the gas bottle ran out in the middle of the week, the management company had it replaced within 30 mins of our notifying them! We didn't use the balcony as much as we would normally on holiday as it was too hot outside for much of the time (34 - 40C) but the full size pool was great . WiFi was available but required us to take our laptop & iPad into the management company's office so they could note the details of each. The apartment complex was generally very quiet with no disturbance of any sort experienced. Not very suitable for people with mobility problems as there are 2 flights of steps to the apartment and then 3 flights to get to the pool. As it is out of town there isn't much in the way of shops or restaurants within walking distance either. Communication with the owners was always friendly, helpful and promptly responded to. We enjoyed our week very much and would stay here again. |

The apartment was spacious and comfortable and the balcony faced toward the beach. Outside pool was fantastic and a perfect time of year to be in Turkey. Not crowded. Even though there is transport to and from Bodrum via bus, service was not regular during time of year so definitely suggest hiring a car if you intend staying into the night in Bodrum. Gulluk is a lovely little town & a hidden gem away from busy Bodrum. Highly recommended. |

My husband and my 2 teenage daughters had a fantastic time in Gulluk. The apartment was tremendous! Really nicely decorated and very well furnished. It had great sea views and we enjoyed a relaxing drink most evenings on the balcony watching the sunset before heading off into town to enjoy dinner at one of the many resteraunt. The pool is amazing and again great views of the sea. If your not a pool person, the apartment is right by the sea and there are lots of small beaches with beach bars on the doorstep. We visited Bodrum a few times, which we really enjoyed. That said there is plenty to do if you just want to stay local, including boat trips, windsurfing, markets etc. Really great place to holiday! |
