Home description

This quality villa, furnished to a very high standard and with a hillside setting giving unobstructed views of the Gulluk bay, offers the perfect location for a relaxing holiday and is ideal for couples, families or golfers.
Purposely selected for it's location, views, transfer times and all day sun to the front terrace and garden.
Located 2 km from Gulluk centre but accessible by walking (20 mins), hire car, inexpensive local Dolmus service (5 mins walk away) or taxi, with a travel time of about 3 minutes by car.

There are two public beaches nearby with Oba beach providing a good family setting and also an adjacent inexpensive cafe/bar.

The villa offers 3 bedrooms, 2 of which share a balcony, 2 bathrooms (one en-suite) each with bath/shower fittings/screens, and a downstairs WC. The downstairs open planned furnished lounge, dining area and fully fitted kitchen lead to the outdoor terrace and private garden. This property shares a good sized communal swimming pool and children's splash pool with only 13 other villas and is only 40M away.

The villa sleeps and accommodates 6 in comfort, providing all the expected entertainment facilities such as 32" flat screen TV, satellite system, DVD player, CD Player etc. It provides air conditioning to the downstairs and each bedroom, mosquito screens, outdoor garden furniture and barbecue.

The property faces West to the bay of Gulluk providing the garden and terrace with the sun from mid morning to sunset.
As a family owned holiday home, our intention is to provide all the services in this accommodation to make a very enjoyable holiday for our visitors, as we expect to have ourselves.

Purposely priced in order to provide a competitive alternative to an apartment and for those who appreciate the quality it offers. It offers excellent value for money for a villa in this area, with great value 2010 rates, which will be the last year for rentals via this website.

The Turquoise Coast/Lycia region

Güllük, in Turkish, means “place of roses” and this beautiful location within a bay and adjacent to the Aegean sea enjoys fabulous sunsets. Surrounded by forests, olive, almond and orange plantations, the Bay of Güllük is full of small-unspoilt bays, coves and beaches.

Güllük now embraces tourism and is set to expand and regenerate further as the influx of tourists increase with more foreign owned properties being developed and completed. The town is a welcoming location and remains traditional. This is not the place for a big Mac, a pint of John Smiths or Brits creating anti-social behaviour. It is traditional Turkish, friendly and that is the appeal.
This is the place to unwind and relax, enjoy a quiet drink at one of the local bars and a typical Turkish meal at one of the several excellent restaurants.
The pound is still good value against the Turkish Lira, making for an inexpensive stay whether eating in or out.

The plans for Güllük are very exciting and when coupled to its excellent location for transfers to and from the airport, Bodrum town and marina and the abundance of history and culture along the Bodrum peninsular it has all the makings of a perfect holiday location for those seeking quiet and peaceful surroundings in the immediate area but plenty to see and do close by.

The Bodrum peninsular has become a haven for visitors seeking enjoyable holidays and visiting the area by car, bus or boat trips. This is an area where the pace of life is steady and enjoyable.

Climate
The sun shines endlessly on the Bodrum peninsula, from May to October, with very little humidity. Whilst the peak summer months of July and August can be quite hot, Güllük has the added benefit of always having a lovely sea breeze, keeping the temperature some 2 to 3°C cooler in peak season.
Additionally, it has been acknowledged that this area of Turkey has a winter climate similar to that of Spain and subsequently is rising in popularity as a destination for a mild winter break and for future golfing breaks.

Bodrum / Gulluk area

Bodrum, which is only a 30 minute drive, provides the cosmopolitan, vibrant and busy town with a large Marina and all amenities for a perfect day out, including a McDonalds ! but Gulluk provides all that is usually required at a much more leisurely pace.
For a leisurely visit to a larger but still typical Turkish town, a visit to Milas is recommended, again reached within about 25 minutes.

Both towns can be reached by car, taxi or inexpensive Dolmus from Gulluk centre. With a Dolmus passing within a short distance of the villa on a regular route into Gulluk, journey time about 4 minutes, a quick transfer in the town would result in easy connections to either Bodrum or Milas.

Gulluk is able to provide - shops, bars, restaurants, internet cafes, health centre, pharmacies, supermarkets, a weekly market, a Garanti bank, cash ATM's and a police station. Everything is within close proximity and around the harbour area which caters for boat trips and the purchase of fresh fish.

The local people, who are friendly and accommodating, often meet most evenings to talk or dine in the town, providing an ambience which is typically Turkish and welcoming to visitors.

Naturally, in a small town where fish is landed by the harbour side, it is an inexpensive dish in most restaurants.
For those who prefer not to visit the town but enjoy the peace of the villa, there are two small supermarkets close by.

A short walk from the villa there are two public beaches, with sea temperatures warm all year round. One of the beaches at nearby Oba provides not only a good family location but also an inexpensive cafe bar overlooking the bay. There is also an excellent small terraced restaurant at a nearby hotel, with friendly owners and again a view to the bay.

Two new Championship standard golf courses are due for completion in 2009/10 and both within a 10 minute drive from Gulluk.

For those with children, the opportunity to swim with dolphins is only 20 minutes drive away and a water park is only 35 minutes from Gulluk, but the appeal of the Gulluk area, with it's local ambience and hospitality is still a main part of a holiday in this area.

For those wishing to experience the rich culture and history of the area, it is in plentiful supply.

The transfer from Bodrum-Milas International airport is a very welcome 15 minute drive to Gulluk town or 20 minutes to the villa, resulting in holidays literally starting after leaving the airport with no further extended journeys onwards.

The property is ideal for couples, families with children, and golfers, but sorry - No pets or Smokers please.

All sheets, linen and indoor towels are provided, but please bring your own beach towels.

For stays of two weeks, there will be a linen change available after one week but no property clean until departure. The rental rate includes all utilities and air conditioning, plus a clean of the villa and laundry on departure. There are no 'hidden' extras.

A non-refundable deposit of £100 will secure the booking, with the final balance due 6 weeks before the property is to be used. Payment by cheque thankyou.

A security/breakage deposit of £200 per stay is required and will be returned within 7 days of the property being checked against an inventory by our agent.

No minimum stay. All bookings are flexible and can be mutually agreed, however for stays of less than one week a pro-rata daily rate will be calculated and an additional £70 cleaning/laundry fee is applicable for up to 4 persons, £80 for 5/6 persons.

All prices quoted include a final clean and laundry on departure, water, gas, electricity and air conditioning. Absolutely NO hidden extras. For bookings of more than one week please note that the clean and laundry is only applicable on departure, not weekly.

We have purposely kept our rates for 2010 very competitive, but still offer an additional DISCOUNT of 20% for the second week if two consecutive weeks are booked ALL YEAR round.

The rates shown equate to a typical family of 4 having a 2 week stay in May for only £9 per person per day for the villa. A family of 6 would be paying just £6 per person per day.
