Apartment | 2 bedrooms | sleeps 7
Our holiday home is situated within a small holiday village, just 15 minutes from Bodrum airport. The site is located on the Bodrum peninsula between Guvercinlik and Gulluk in a secluded quiet bay. Our apartment is ideal for families with 2 or 3 children but can accommodate up to 7 people. It is equally suitable for 1 or 2 couples.
The open plan living, dining and kitchen area has large glass sliding doors which lead onto the balcony which has beautiful views. The balcony is the perfect place to relax, eat and watch the sunset.
The fully equipped kitchen has a gas and electric hob, electric oven, extractor fan, kettle, cafetiere, washing machine, dishwasher and fridge freezer. We have provided some store cupboard items to start you off. All cleaning materials, washing powder and toilet paper are provided so all you need to buy is some food or eat out!
There is a family bathroom with a bath and shower over.
Cleaning & laundry - fresh bed linen and towels are provided. A washing machine is available for guests' use. The apartment will be cleaned on arrival and departure and for stays of two weeks or more a weekly clean is included. Should you wish a mid-week clean during your stay, this can be arranged for an additional charge - please contact us for costs. Please bring your own beach towels.
One bedroom has a double bed and the other bedroom has a double bed with a single bed above. Both bedrooms have large wardrobes with drawers, bedside tables and lamps. They are also equipped with fans and mosquito nets if are required.
Bodrum town is about 30 minutes away by car or you can take the Dolmus (minibus) which leaves every hour in peak season.
Why not start off the day by walking to the sea for a swim. Afterwards, if you are tired, then jump on a chauffeur driven golf buggy to our apartment and enjoy breakfast on the balcony, admiring the views. The balcony is furnished with a table and chairs to enable you to dine al fresco.
In the afternoon, relax by the pools, let the children make new friends at the Mini Club and sample the food and drink at the Cafe/Bar.
Have a late afternoon swim in the large 300m2 pool which is so warm as it captures the heat of the sun all day.
In the evenings play "Okey" or Backgammon in the Cafe area.
If you do not want to escape from emails and the internet then there is free wi-fi access in the Cafe area.
Both bedrooms and living room have uninterrupted sea views.
In the pools area the outdoor cafe is shaded should you wish to cool off and the indoor cafe area and gym have air conditioning!
The apartment can provide a convenient base from which to visit the many sights and attractions in the area.
We would recommend hiring a boat from Guvercinlik for the day and discover a secluded bay and swim in the crystal clear turquoise waters and enjoy the peace and quiet away from the hustle and bustle.
Alternatively, there is a vast array of activities to do and sites to visit in Bodrum. Day trips are also possible to Ephesus, the largest archaeological site in the world and the stunning pools at Pamukkale although to make the most of your visit then an overnight stay might be a good idea. Also recommended is a trip to the royal rock tombs at Dalyan and the Temple of Apollo at Didim.
The complex has 24 hour security and all cars remain in the car park so that it is safe for children to walk about. Transport within the site, should you need it, is by chauffeur-driven golf carts.
Airport transfers available on request and cost approximately £20 each way.

The Turquoise Coast/Lycia region
The Turquoise Coast runs from Bodrum in the north to the city of Antalya in the south, a spectacular stretch of coastline, once the home of the Greek Lycian civilisation. The Turquoise Coast offers an alluring combination of beautiful scenery and ancient sites and the Aegean Sea ensures a mild year round climate, with long hot summers and short winters.
Bargyila is located near Guvercinlik and is ideally situated, being only 15 minutes from the airport and 35 minutes from Bodrum town centre. Guvercinlik is a fishing village and is about 10 minutes away by car or taxi and here you will find shops, supermarkets, post office, cash machine and an excellent weekly market on a Monday. Many a pleasant afternoon and evening can be spent at the restaurants and cafes by the sea front which are also excellent value and cheaper than Bodrum town.
Other local villages on the coast worth visiting for good restaurants are Bogazici and Gulluk and they are situated between the airport and Guvercinlik and are also about 10 to 25 minutes away.
You can travel around in a 'dolmus' which run more frequently through the summer. These are shared mini-buses and very cheap.
The ruins of the ancient city of Bargilya, Tuzla lake and the Vita Park Golf Resort are just 5 minutes away.
Bodrum Castle, built by the Crusaders overlooks the harbour and the International Karada Marina. The castle grounds include the Museum of Underwater Archaeology and host several cultural festivals throughout the year. In Bodrum you can also visit the Mausoleum of Halicarnassus which was one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World and the amphitheatre also hosts musical events.
For water fun then visit the Dedeman Aquapark in Ortakent. Or if you want to go further afield then take a day trip on the ferry to the Greek island of Kos. Or howabout going to Yalikavak to see the Windmills?
In Bodrum town there is also a lively nightlife. The old market is open seven days a week for clothes, shoes, leather goods and souvenirs.

"Most definiately going back again next year!!"
We have been to Bargylia before as a family - as a family we go on lots of holidays (we drive an old car!), to places all over Europe, but generally we only go the once! We had such a wonderful time … More

"Fantastic holiday - beautiful location"
Wonderful place to visit. Great flat with so much to do and see on the door step. Amazing views of sunset from the balcony! Swimming pool and tennis courts are such a bonus.

"Fabulous beach holiday, fun for all the family, with ancient ruins nearby"
We had a very enjoyable and relaxing stay at Bargylia, near Guvercinlik, in July 3013.. The apartment was very well equipped, spotlessly clean and comfortable. We loved sitting on the balcony, admiring the view and listening to the birds and the waves. Even our teenagers were calm and relaxed, they loved using their inflatable rubber ring to skim the waves and surf in the afternoons. The beach, which is part of the Bargylia site, is very safe and sandy. It slopes down gently so even poor swimmers like myself felt confident enough to swim in the sea. Small children were swimming happily in the shallow water close to the edge of the beach. Our teenagers went out much further to the pontoon and loved it. We have left the rubber ring in its box in your cupboard as we won't get chance to use it back in the UK. If you leave something behind in a distant land, it means you are destined to return!
Everyone on site was friendly and the staff are very helpful. We felt very safe and relaxed.
We did a few trips to Bodrum, Guvercinlik and Iassos in the hire car. Local buses run regularly to Bodrum from Bargylia, but ideally you need a car to go further afield. Iassos is worth a trip for those who like ancient ruins. You can walk to the castle half submerged in the sea along a stone causeway. A great walk in the heat! Sitting in the shady restaurant/cafe overlooking the sea and the ruins is a good way to spend a few hours if the heat makes you feel lethargic. The food looked good there too.
We also enjoyed the food at Mavi Masi at the adjacent Camptepe site, good food and stunning views.
We would love to return to Bargylia, possibly in October next year. The friendly locals told us it is warm enough then. Some people live permanently at Bargylia and Camptepe giving the place a more permanent feel than the average holiday complex.
Internet access was available in the cafe area close to the apartment but not in the apartment itself. Consequently our teenagers spent lots of time in the cafe area which was a good way to make sure they didn't stay cooped up in the apartment for hours on facebook!
Thank you Ruth for letting us stay in your lovely home and I hope we can go there again next year.
Thank you for your informative review. We are so glad you had fun. As parents of teenagers ourselves, we regard a lack of internet in the apartment a positive thing! Hope to see you again in October.

"Very relaxing yet active holiday."
We had a great holiday! It was a combination of the location (extremely quiet, away from most things), the great little bay it overlooks, the large (for the size of the site, anyway) pool, friendliness of staff and the nice set up at the flat, not to mention the incredible view you get from the balcony. That said, I think it might be very different in July/August, when most of the other apartments must also be occupied. We went in May, which is not holiday season for the locals and I think most of the other properties are owned by Turkish people. When we were there, there was max one or two other families by the pool during the day. Brilliant!
The only cons, by going out of the main season (for the locals) is that there is little at the on-site cafe and shop by way of dinner/drinks, but the guys running the cafe' make up for this by trying their best to please. We went there for dinner one night and ended up having a jamming session with them!
The beach club was also closed, but this meant we had the pier to ourselves most times we went there either fishing in the evening or swimming during the day.
You will need a car, nearest town is abut 15 minutes drive, nearest supermarket about 5 mins. There is nothing really outside the resort walking distance.
There is a little gym on site, nothing special, but again hardly anyone there when we went. Facilities are very good, we played some tennis and basketball and there is a nice play area for younger kids. The sea is wonderful, very clean and the bay shallow, you can walk out for a fair bit, so great for kids again. There are a few trips to do within a couple of hrs drive, so you won't be bored if you had enough of the pool/sea. Only about 20 minutes from the airpors but not on the flight path at all.
Thank you for your detailed review. Glad you had a great time. The dolmus is a great way to explore locally - it is cheap and very frequent in high season.

"Perfect location + accommodation for family with children (+ parents who need to relax too!)"
This was the best holiday we've had as a family ever!! Ruth provided thorough information from start to finish, the apartment was only a short (+cheap!) taxi ride from the airport, and was immaculate and very well equipped. Regnum Bargylia is unlike anywhere we have been before.....soooooo relaxing, with a wonderful swimming pool which was never full and comfy sun loungers that were always available. My husband and I hardly left our sun loungers as the pool, restaurant, mini shop, basketball court and tennis courts where all close by and everyone was very friendly, so we felt that our children were very safe. Our children (aged 8 +7) really enjoyed the holiday, made friends with some of the other children, loved the activities, which also included a shaded mini club where a very kind lady encouraged them to make pasta necklaces etc, and there was an indoor air-conditioned room with table tennis which entertained them while they were avoiding the midday sun. We mostly ate by the pool as the restaurant had a fantastic selection of freshly prepared meals, all at extremely reasonable prices. We ventured by Dolmus to Bodrum several times, to shop, to explore the castle, museum of underwater archaeology, and to eat by the side of the port. We also went on day trips (helpfully arranged by the reception desk at Regnum!) on local boats which took us to secluded coves and fed us freshly grilled fish ....the captain would even swim out to the kids with trays of watermelon for them!! Honestly, a totally fantastic place to stay if you are a family with kids that need to be kept busy and parents that need to relax! Needless to say, we loved it so much, we're booking to go back next year!!!
We are so glad you had a good time and we look forward to seeing you again in August this year.

"Fantastic get away!"
Me and my boyfriend stayed in Regnum for our first holiday together. the holiday was fab, the location its self is a very secluded location so relaxation is sooo easy. The apartment is lovely and very modern & clean with great views from the balcony over looking the bay. Taking a dip in the sea is a must as the water is lovely. From start to finish Ruth made everything so easy. Gave great directions into Bodrum which is a must just for the shopping!
There is a mini bus from the top of the site that goes at 10 past every hour into Bodrum which costs 10 lira return.
The pool was also great we went down quite early every morning around 9am and we had it to ourselfs. The on site restaurant was very good and service aswell. although sometimes there was a language barrier but was very easy to get past that.
We had a great holiday and will be returning very soon!
We are thrilled that you enjoyed yourselves and look forward to welcoming you again in the future.
