Villa Manzara is a three bedroomed villa situated in a beautiful, tranquil spot on top of a hill in the small village of Hekimkoy which overlooks Gundgan and has panoramic views over the whole of the north east Bodrum peninsula. The villa comprises three double bedrooms on three floors. The master bedroom has en suite bathroom and there is a second bathroom inside, plus a third accessed from the garden .The top bedroom has a door opening onto the roof terrace. The villa has a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, refrigerator and washing machine. Bedrooms have fans and the lounge has DVD and satellite TV. There is a covered furnished dining area outside on the terrace. The garden is approximately fifty metres in length and has grass and a number of fruit trees. There is solar panelled heating for water and all windows have mosquito net coverings. The villa is set on top of a hill in a very quiet secluded area which also has a great sense of openness all round and has exceptional views of the sea over 180 degrees. The slight breeze which develops over the hill offers a welcome relief from the very high temperatures experienced in the summer.
Hekimkoy is a small community on the outskirts of Gundagan. It has its own supermarket which is a few hundred metres from the property. There are also two exclusive private beaches which guests have the right to use during their stay. Both beaches are within walking distance although the return journey is uphill. Their is a free bus service that runs from the supermarket to and from the beaches between June and September. The beaches are both mostly rocky but jetties have been built out into the sea to offer diving access. The area is tree lined and grassed over and has good shade. In addition , there are sun loungers and a small café

The history of Bodrum, originally known as Halicarnassus, goes back to the 13th century BC and the mausoleum sited there was known as one of the wonders of the ancient world The Bodrum Peninsula is situated on the southwest coast of Turkey, in the eastern Aegean Activities include, watersports, boat trips around the coves and bays, horse riding, diving and exploring the rich history of the peninsula The climate boasts plenty of sunshine and a cooling breeze on the northern coast around the villages of Gundogan. There are spectacular hills all over the peninsula and beautiful, safe, sandy, clean beaches that are ideal for children.

Bodrum / Gundogan area

Only a few minutes West of Yalikavak, Gundogan is a place that can be really called peaceful. This little village is still more or less unspoiled. Gündogan, ancient Farilya, has been always an important town for fishing, olive and tangerine growing. It is also a very attractive area for sponge diving and underwater photography.

Many tours are available from Bodrum, including a day trip to the ancient Roman city of Ephesus, another of the Seven Ancient Wonders of the World. A trip to Dalyan will show you the ruins of Kaunos with its rock tombs built into the rock face. For a longer trip, Pamukkale which means ‘cotton castles’ in Turkish is just about accessible in one day and its white terraces of limestone rock and therapeutic hot springs are unforgettable

Hi Betty,

This is the first occassion I've had to sit and send you my email since I got back. I just wanted to say that staying in your villa was absolutly blissful! I thought the location was perfect, so peaceful. Though we didnt have a car for the second week, the stroll to the supermarket was no problem and it was handy being able to jump onto the beach bus as it dropped us off at the top of the road. To get to the airport we got a taxi which cost 90 turkish lire.

I've been raving about it at work. We had a wonderful time, you have a perfect haven!
