About the home

This luxurious 4 bedroom villa with extended private pool (much larger than the standard plunge pools) is situated on the prestigious Turquoise development overlooking Lake Tuzla. If you're looking for a relaxing holiday, Turquoise is in an idyllic quiet location, away from the hustle and bustle of busy resorts, but should you want to seek the high life, then Bodrum Town is only 25 minutes by car. Here you can have the best of both worlds. You can take it as easy as you like at Turquoise, soak up the sun around the breathtaking pool, read a book under the covered verandas or enjoy a game of tennis, get fit in the gym or even take time out to have that well deserved massage you've been thinking of.

The villa is fully air-conditioned, in the winter time it converts to heating. It has a master bedroom with ensuite, a twin room, a single room and a family bathroom on the first floor all with quality fitted wardrobes. There is a further double bedroom on the ground floor next to the third bathroom. There is an open plan lounge, with fully fitted kitchen housing fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, electric hob, cooker, toaster and kettle. We have a large TV and DVD player with numerous DVDs and an ipod docking station so you can listen to your favourite music. Please note we do not have satellite TV.

The spacious patio area houses a table and chairs and a brick built barbecue for dining alfresco. Around the pool there are sunbeds and a large parasol and it is adorned with potted palms and plants. Rich colourful bougainvillea drapes over the verandahs. You should have everything you need to enable you to have a happy holiday.

Turquoise Resort has sister developments including Royal Heights, Flamingo Country Club and Lakeside Gardens, you can use all their facilities which include a gym, tennis courts, children's playground, children's paddling pool, waterslides, a pitch and putt course on Flamingo.

At Royal Heights you can relax and enjoy a massage at the Beauty Spa, have a swim in the infinity pool or take a dive off the jetty into the sea at the Beach Club. You can eat at any of their restaurants, a free shuttle service operates between sites frequently in the summer months.

The Turquoise Coast/Lycia region

Turquoise is located on the shores of beautiful lake Tuzla between Bodrum town & Bodrum airport, providing
commanding views over the lake and surrounding mountains, which are spectacular.

The Peninsula itself has a breathtaking coastline dotted with many traditional and picturesque fishing villages and just 2 hours drive away is the magnificently preserved Roman city of Ephesus.

Turkey's Aegean shores are among the most beautiful landscapes in the country. The magnificent coastline is lapped by the clear waters of the Aegean Sea.

The holiday season lasts from early spring until late autumn when the temperature range is from 20 to mid 30 degrees, summer being the most popular time.

The Bodrum / Lake Tuzla area

Bodrum is a holiday spot for a diverse, eclectic array of nationalities. It is the favoured destination for affluent Turks from the cities of Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir. Bodrum's most prominent feature is the Castle of St. Peter overlooked by the ancient amphitheatre to name just two of its tourist attractions.

Bodrum Castle is a great day out but make sure you're covered in sun cream as Bodrum can be quite a few degrees hotter than Tuzla. Bodrum's nightlife is buzzing with plenty of bars, cafes and clubs and during the day you can relax on Bodrum beach or explore the wide variety of shops and markets. Bodrum has a beautiful marina with its many boats and yachts with a long promenade with many cafes and restaurants to eat and drink.

Bodrum is the home of the Tomb of King Mausolus, one of the seven wonders of the ancient world and with its impressive marina and cobbled streets, it's not hard to see why this is such a popular destination, the spectacular scenery coupled with the cosmopolitan feel of the area makes it appealing to all walks of life.

From Bodrum you can catch a ferry to the islands of Rhodes and Kos.

Tuzla Lake and it's extensive wetlands lie at the end of a deep inlet from the Gulf of Gulluk and Mandalya Bay. The area is unique as it is where the Lake links with the sea. Embraced by rolling mountains covered with a rich combination of wild shrubs, olive groves, pine and Tamarisk trees, this is perhaps one of the most beautiful locations in Turkey.

Ancient remains can be seen emerging from the Lake. Tuzla Lake has been a nature reserve under international protection since 1994. A huge variety of birds take sanctuary here in the rich wetlands. Flamingos flock to the area by the thousands (October-May) and you can also see the largest population of White Storks in the region.

The village of Bogazici which lies on the mouth of the estuary is an idyllic testament to Turkish tradition with its quaintly sparse settlements and taverna style fish restaurants.

The flight time to Turkey is approximately 4 hours from the UK. Turquoise Resort is 20 minutes drive from Bodrum/MIlas Airport which is just what you need after a long flight. On confirmation of your reservation, detailed directions will be sent to you should you want to hire a car from the airport. Car hire and transfers can be arranged for you should you so wish.

Direct flights from the UK are available all year round. We have flown with Thomas Cook Airlines, Thomson and Monarch in the past. Some of the cheaper Airlines fly to Bodrum aswell, it just depends where you're flying from.

“Fabulous Villa” Stayed at this beautiful villa with my partner, 20 year old daughter and 10 year old son during the October half term holiday. The accomodation is first class, absolutely beautiful in fact, with exceptional facilities, easily the best we have stayed in. The villa is immaculate throughout, lovely spacious bedrooms, excellant kitchen complete with everthing you require, a great lounge to relax and an amazing patio and pool area. The latter being a very good size for swimming. The views from the villa are wonderful too, especially from the roof top sunbathing terrace. Turquoise itself is a lovely setting, quiet but very relaxing, boasting an excellant restaurant open from 8.30 till late, a couple of shops, beauty spa, gymn etc. For the children there is a very large pool by the restaurant, two water slides, mini golf and outdoor chess. The older ones may try their hand at tennis or just laze by the pool on the many free sunloungers. Bodrum town is easily reached by an excellant bus service or the many taxis(although expensive) and there are plenty of other traditional villages to visit with excellant restaurants. Next time I would hire a car. All in all I cannot fault this accomodation and would definately return.
