Home description
Ozak Villalari is a private, beautifully-tended complex, with 24 hour security, on a hillside overlooking the delightful seaside village of Torba. The villa is airy and spacious and set in lush tropical gardens.Ten minutes from the tourist hub of Bodrum, Torba is completely different in character, being a popular but quiet centre for Turkish family holidays. A working fishing port, it also boasts a number of hotels ( some with sandy beach and offering watersports), restaurants and cafes along the waterfront, which provide sunbeds and umbrellas at no cost and from where there is a stunning view across the bay. Along with the fishing boats the harbour is often home to a number of the beautiful locally- built traditional wooden yachts or gulets.
Bodrum is accessible, as is most of the Bodrum peninsula, by a frequent 'dolmus' or minibus service. There you will find the complete array of restaurants, bars, clubs and shops, including a delightful bazaar area, and the magnificent castle of the Knights of St. John.
Bodrum is ideally situated for excursions to such ancient sites as Myndos ( Gumusluk), Ephesus and the rock tombs, waterways and stunning beach at Dalyan. There are also regular ferry trips to the adjacent peninsula of Datca and the Greek islands of Kos and Rhodes.
It is therefore possible to have both the complete Turkish experience and also a relaxing Mediterranean seaside holiday.

The Turquoise Coast/Lycia region
Western Turkey is steeped in 5000 years of dramatic history and is the cradle of European civilisation. Many inspiring ruins still stand in the landscape of mountains, pine forests, olive groves, turquoise seas and beaches that drew those first Greek colonists. There is abundant sunshine from March to September and the famed hospitality of the Turks is just as warm.
Major Greek sites within easy reach of Bodrum include Ephesus and Didyma and to the south at Dalyan there are the rock tombs of Telmessos , a visit to which also includes a boat trip along the reed-fringed waterway made famous in 'the African Queen' to a magnificent beach used by endangered turtles. Another excursion offered by local tour operators is to the white 'cotton castles' of Pamukkale where limestone deposits cascade down the mountainside in a series of pools. Oh, and there's an ancient Greek city there too.
Bodrum / Torba area
Bodrum is a cosmopolitan centre with all the facilities of a 21st century resort whilst retaining its eastern ambience and traditions. The narrow streets behind the castle contain a wealth of small shops selling all kinds of Turkish handicrafts as well as designer-influenced clothes. There are small Turkish tea shops and eateries where you visit the kitchen to choose your dish. Turkish cuisine uses a wealth of vegetables, lamb or chicken, nuts, yogurt and honey. Or there are stylish modern bars and water-side restaurants offering the freshest seafood alongside the grandest view of the castle.
You can take a boat or diving trip, snorkel, fish, dance at sea on the catamaran disco, have a mud bath on the island of Karaada in the bay, haggle for carpets or just about anything else at the lively local market or marvel at the enormous variety of fresh fruit and spices. For children there is a large waterpark on the outskirts of the town. And if you tire after all this activity a visit to the hamam or Turkish bath is a must.
The Bodrum peninsula is an area of great natural beauty, with mountains, sleepy inland villages and a variety of seaside towns, harbours and beaches. All of these are served by the frequent and cheap minibus service radiating from Bodrum's main bus station.
