Yasemin 40
About the home
We bought this first floor apartment new and furnished it in 2011 for use by us. It offers very comfortable accommodation, with stunning views from all aspects and every facility on the acclaimed Hillview Gardens site, acknowledged to be one of, if not the best, of its kind on the Bodrum peninsula.
Main bedroom has ensuite facilities and there is a further guest bathroom.
Fully equipped kitchen with all the facilities you might expect, including free WiFi. Living / dining area has TV, comfortable sofa, two armchairs, with patio doors opening out onto one of the balconies, where the view is magnificent. For an even more stunning view, walk upstairs to the large roof terrace, where the most hardened sun worshipper will be satisfied.
Hillview's main pool, tennis court, outdoor chess, restaurant and gym are less than a minute's walk, whilst the site also has its own small shop and transport to and from the local villages of Yalikavak and Gumusluk, which are about 10 minutes away.
A regular Dolmus service (Turkey's cross between a bus and a communal taxi) operates from 09:45 to 01:30 daily between Hillview and Yalikavak, so you can spend a long evening in one of Yali's many friendly bars, enjoying the local Raki, knowing your return ride home will only cost you 3 YTL (about £1-20!).
We also own a 4 bedroom villa on the same site and have access to other similar reasonably priced apartments if you have a larger party to accommodate. Please enquire.

Lonely Planet says it all "The future of accommodation in Bodrum - and what a bright future it is! This brilliant holiday concept is a gated community of privately owned apartments and villas........full access to a variety of amenities like tennis courts, a spa, a restaurant (with surprisingly good food)......A frequent Dolmus links Hillview to Yalikavak and Gumusluk."
Hillview gardens has enough facilities to ensure you can stay put for your whole visit. There are various outdoor pools, a heated indoor pool, aqua park, play area, a gym, sauna, tennis court and attractive and well kept grounds. 24 hour security with transport facilities to Yalikavak, Gumusluk and Bodrum. Free WiFi and typical Turkish attractions within minutes. For 2013, the restaurant and shop complex is being totally rebuilt, with a superb new roof terrace eating area, sweeping down to the poolside.
There are so many wonderful restaurants and small eating places in the area, it would take you weeks to try them all. We will give you lots of recommendations, but if you want to be seen where Turkey's great and good all congregate, try Limone, on the right before Gumusluk. You can walk down to the beach from there. Or there's Mimosa in Gumusluk on the far right of the beach away from the rest.

The Turquoise Coast/Lycia region
The Bodrum peninsula is a popular destination for holidaymakers, offering something for virtually everyone.
Bodrum itself is a lively port contrasting world class nightlife with traditional architecture, wonderful cuisine and everything in between.
Sophisticated private beaches, some of history's most important relics, fantastic climate and the friendly Turkish welcome is the reason people come back year after year.
Your lasting impression is likely to be how beautiful the coastline is. With views to the Greek islands and a myriad of unspoilt bays, harbours and fishing villages, it's the kind of place you can spend all day just looking out to sea.
The Bodrum / Yalikavak area
Both Yalikavak and Gumusluk (around 10 minutes from Hillview) have evolved from their roots as traditional fishing villages, yet still offer those original experiences if authenticity is what you are looking for.
Gumusluk's harbour side fish restaurants are renowned and no visit would be complete without a visit there. You can also see remains of the ancient city of Myndos, now submerged under water.
Yalikavak's new marina and 5 star hotels have resulted in it being labelled the St Tropez of the East. It is attracting more celebrities and billionaires every year. June 2012 saw a huge private party at the marina, with Rihanna helping to add to the $20m the new owner has spent on it. But you can still eat out for a few £s in one of the traditional cafes or water side bars.
This is an area where you can still see camels being led down the street or the rich and famous enjoying a sophisticated drink close to their super yacht.
Stuff to do is endless and includes day trips by ferry to Kos and Rhodes, sea fishing and sailing in traditional wooden Gulets at very reasonable cost, horse riding, turkish baths, Jeep safaris and so on.
If food is an important part of your holiday, then you will not be disappointed. One of the best experiences is a meal in one of the informal 'restaurants' in a private house where one of the rooms is converted and food cooked by the family. There is one within walking distance of Hillview and another famous one (Onion-Garlic Cafe) in nearby Gumusluk.
A well stocked Migros mini supermarket opened in 2011 on the coastal road to Gumusluk and can be reached by the regular Dolmus from the site within a few minutes. We think it is the supermarket with the best view in the world, looking as it does over the beautiful Gumusluk/Myndo bay!

We arrived quite late at night, and, it seemed to be quite a way up the hill. In the morning and a good night sleep, the view from the balcony was brilliant!! The location is spot on for Yalikavak, Gumusluk and Turgutreis. Bodrum is not too far either. Would fully recommend a car, there is a dolmus, but, having a car gives much more freedom!! The apartment has all you could need, showers with on demand hot water, fridge freezer, full oven and hob, dish washer and washing machine. Being there for 2 weeks, we stocked up with our food and milk. Having a good size fridge meant we could also take advantage of the cheap fruit and veg. There are plenty of pools to take advantage of, the bar/restaurant has very friendly staff and nice cold Efes beer!! Was able to pick up the wi-fi signal in the apartment which was adequate for email and general browsing. Better strength on the kitchen table!! On the roof, there is an even better view. We enjoyed our holiday, having the air conditioning made the evening pleasant and ensured a good night sleep. A good all round apartment that you won't be disappointed with and have no hesitation in recommending it for somewhere to stay. Forget hotels, use this apartment!! Response: We're really glad you enjoyed it and thanks for taking the trouble to review us |

Our first time in Turkey and from our experience on this holiday it certainly won't be our last - in fact already booked a return to Yalikavak for 2012. Yasemin 40 situated on the Hillview Gardens Holiday site had very comfortable accommodation two bedrooms and two bathrooms, great sized kitchen, dining, lounge area with a lovely sunny aspect balcony with great panoramic views. The apartment was well furnished and in a modern tasteful way. There are an abundance of swimming pools some were quite private and if you wanted to be the only ones around a pool there were a few to choose from. The main pool was situated a few hundred yards away from the apartment and was well populated during the day, but there was always sun loungers available. There was wifi access at the main pool, but we could not get access from the apartment. The "Hill" restaurant was situated adjacent to the main pool and served good food, snacks and drinks at affordable prices throughout the day the staff were really friendly as were all the Turkish people. There was a regular minibus that you could use to get into Yalikavak, we had a hired car, hence, we did not use the minibus service. Yalikavak and the surrounding area of Bodrum really is a beautiful area it's not one of these commercialised purpose built tourist areas, I really hope that it stays that way. We ate a lot at the restaurants in Yalikavak and the food was a very good quality and the price was so much cheaper than any euro currency country the approximate cost for my wife and I to eat out was £15 to £20 (for the two of us) including drink. You are really spoilt for choice when it comes to restaurants and food to suit all tastes. I would recommend this area of Turkey to anyone, the Turkish are lovely, friendly people. Hillview Gardens is situated up in the hills and is a 5 minute drive away from the town of Yalikavak, you would not want to walk it as it is very hilly. I would not recommend Hillview Gardens to anyone that had a difficulty in walking or was elderly or confined to a wheelchair as there are a lot of steps to contend with. All in all a great holiday!!! Response: Thanks very much for the review. We look forward to seeing you in 2013! |
