Home description
Swan villas 1 and 2 are almost identical. We have returning guests in 2008 booking both properties as families and friends holidaying together (which is great as they share the one pool), and are also doing this ourselves this year. Please see our Villa 1 at the bottom of this advert / complete enquiry form, for more information. For smaller parties you may want to consider Marina View Apartment (also detailed below). We have advertised no. of guests max 7, however there is also a sofa bed in each villa ... sleeping x2 more persons.
The villa is situated less than eight minutes walk from the sea front and centre of Turgutreis and a minute’s walk to the local store for milk, water, etc, approx 10 mins walk to marina, sea, restaurants and sea front shops. There are three patios including large private top floor balcony/
Turgutreis is famous for its excellent fish restaurants, bars and shops, excellent Saturday market and has a beautiful new marina. The town of Turgutreis is situated at the furthest tip of the historic Bodrum Peninsula with its fantastic sunset overlooking an horizon of islands. The Bodrum Peninsula is very easy to travel from, to all the other small towns, via the local "dolmus" bus service ... extending to a lovely water aquapark, which is great fun for children (and parents!).
Customer recommendation: 3-17 June 2007: "Our holiday was great. The Villa was fantastic and had a great location with its close proximity to Centrum. It was well equipped with lovely furnishings.", Eric and Celia Tacey, Glasgow
Turgutreis named after the famous sea captain Turgut Reis, this town has developed quite rapidly, becoming the largest settlement on the peninsula after Bodrum. A distance of 20 kilometers from Bodrum, Turgutreis is spread throughout a rich valley well planted with orchards and vegetable gardens. Çatal Island and many islands of various sizes fan out in front of the town protecting it from westerly storms. These islands and the sea surrounding them make a spectacular backdrop for the setting sun, providing some of the most beautiful sun-sets in the world.
We recommend seven persons through 4 bedrooms, to avoid having to use the living room sofa bed as an extra sleeping room. This, we feel is more comfortable for the party, but available if necessary.
Should there be no availability for your preferred dates, please still contact us as we may be able to refer you to a similar property.

The Turquoise Coast/Lycia region
Turkey is a holiday paradise; the sparkling Aegean Sea, abundant sunshine and magnificent mountains offer visitors a complete getaway from the stress and routine of everyday life.
Turkey has a magnificent past, and is a land full of historic treasures from 13 successive civilizations spanning 10,000 years. As a holidaymaker to this fascinating country you can enjoy browsing Turkish bazaars, explore ancient landmarks like the ancient city of Troy, try water sports such as sailing, windsurfing and scuba diving or just relax on the beach or by the pool.
There is also a unique cuisine to enjoy, as well as the amazing Turkish baths which are great for relaxation and the Coffee Houses where games of backgammon are played and ‘nargile’ pipes are smoked.
From April to October, most resorts in Turkey benefit from the kind of climate that is perfect for relaxing on sandy beaches or enjoying the tranquillity of mountains and lakes.
As well as sandy beaches and fantastic weather, the Aegean coast offers many sites of historic and environmental interest. The Temple of Apollo is only 4km away while the impressive 4,000 year old classical city of Ephesus can be reached within a couple of hours. The geological formations and historic remains of Pamukkale are also well worth a visit.
A number of companies operate tours to these sites as well as many more.
Bodrum / Turgutreis area
Turgutreis is warm and friendly holiday resort with its traditional shops and seaside restaurants (displaying freshly caught fish of the day on a bed of ice), as well as a beautiful marina, with designer shops and beautiful restaurants. One can enjoy a wonderful meal by the sea, watching the sunset, at a delicious price (either on the beautiful new marina, or by the older parade on the quayside restaurant tables, where one can watch the sun go down!). Alternatively one can dine by the sea in the day, and enjoy the wonderful sunset views from your own home, sun bathing and dining on the top floor of Swan Villa 1/2. There are many lively bars - we recommend "The Corner Pub" which Akin runs, just behind the sea front bars (by the market square) - all mod cons, plasma TVs and even a Nintendo Wii for the kids (and adults!) and restaurants, offering Turkish evenings, football bars, kareoke, dancing. There are no nightclubs. Turgutreis is therefore suitable for families and people looking for a quieter holiday, yet lively enough for an enjoyable evening out, after a day in the sun and sea. The huge Saturday market offers something for everyone and the fresh fruit and vegetables are definintely worth a visit, although these are also in abundance in supermarkets only 5 minutes walk away from the villas. There are plenty of villages to visit and the bustling town of Bodrum is only a bus/'dolmus' ride away.
There are daily boat trips to the local islands, extending as far as Kos. These islands include camel riding, visiting caved coves and snorkelling.
There is a water park not far from Bodrum. Bicycles are available for hire, at a very reasonable price.
