Karya development is set in a natural amphitheatre right on the sea between the popular resorts of Yalikavak and Gumusluk on the Bodrum Peninsula. This mature 'hillside village' comprises approximately 50 properties of villas and apartments, all with amazing sea views. The property has been built using local stone and wood materials enabling them to naturally blend in with the surrounding environment. Olive trees, colourful bouganvilla and other native plants are in abundance.
Due to its quiet location and natural beauty, Karya is the perfect destination for those wanting a quiet escape (writers/painters), those who enjoy walking holidays or those who just want to chill and take in some beautiful scenery. Karya is the chosen holiday 'home' for many Turkish families from the big cities, which further enhances the traditional Turkish holiday experience.
A must for visitors to the area is to dine at the waterside restaurants in the actual sea side village area of Gumusluk. Gumusluk is an area, however, the centre is the beautiful and picturesque little fishing harbour. There's a fabulous selection of restaurants here, all offering fresh meze, catch of the day and other Turkish cuisine. Lots of little 'shops' too rather like an English market with locals selling their own unique gifts and local 'wares'. Have lunch, then paddle out to Rabbit Island to see the underwater ruins, then stroll around the little shops, a perfect way to spend a day. At night time, the atmosphere is more magical as the restaurants light up with electric and candle light, its one mass of twinkling colourful lights.
