Yalikavik is a vibrant town with a mixture of tradition and modern Marina Resort sitting comfortably side by side. Watch the locals play dominos, try bartering in the local shops or buy buy buy at the weekly market. If that sounds like too much work then simply have a romantic meal overlooking the marina!

The Turquoise Coast/Lycia region
The Bodrum Peninsula has a perfect Mediterranean climate and the summer runs between May and October. The weather is reliable and rain virtually unheard of. Summer temperatures range from the low 20°Cs at the beginning of the season to the low 30°Cs.
Winters are mild you can still get the chance to dip in the sea in November. This is a great all year round holiday destination.
Bodrum / Yalikavak area
Yalikavak used to be an old fishing harbour but has now been dubbed the St Tropez of the Bodrum peninsula with its new multi-million pound marina. www.portbodrum.com Its a beautiful resort and only a 10 minute walk from the apartment It is a small but busy centre and a harbour where visiting yachts and fishing boats moor cheerfully together. The restaurants in the town centre and on the sea front are popular with locals and tourists alike. It is also comfortable to sit in a waterside cafe and watch the world go by. The local markets and bazzars are a must. The weekly market Thurs is the largest open air market on the Bodrum peninsula. The waterpark is only 20mins on the dolmus (local bus) and down by the harbour there are small rides for children to go on. Those wishing to venture a bit further take the ferry from Bodrum to Greek Island of Kos. There are many boat trips available from both harbours. There are many land based places to visit. These include Ephesus, the largest archaeoligical site in the world, the stunning pools of pamukkale, the royal rock tombs at Dalyan, the temple of apollo at Didim or St Peter's bulit by the crusaders in Bodrum itself. The world famous Camel Beach is only 30 mins away by car.
How to get there
Fly to Bodrum- Yalikavak is 30 mins from the airport Flights available through First Choce, Goldtrail and all the usuals. Airport transfers can be organised in advance for 30stg each way, just let us know. Car hire available for 20pd per day (2006 ) through Valley Car rentals number available on request

Just back from ur apartment folks, really impressed with the wee town, manages to combine the shopping and nightlife requirements and the quaint genuine old town feel. Locals really friendly, recommend you walk to the town and get the fresh bread every morning, simply wonderful. Kids really enjoyed the pool and park, great that we could watch from the terrace. Apartment spacious and airy, Air con in all rooms a great advantage. We hired a car for the last few days and explored the peninsula although the local buses are good, can't belive Tesco, Band Q and Makro only up the road. Best wishes, we'll be looking at the calendar for next year Band T
