“Great Value Accomodations” We stayed in this unit from the end of April to early May. It is a 2 bedroom, 2 bath unit with kitchen, living room, and rooftop terrace. The unit was large enough, it was great for the price we paid, but don't expect top-of-the-line digs. The a/c worked great. There was a washing machine in the unit and a drying rack. The kitchen had a refrigerator, 4-burner cooktop, and microwave. The dishes were provided, as well as towels and linens. We had to buy bathmats, because the water leaked whenever we bathed or showered. We enjoyed breakfast on the balcony every morning. There is a grocery store nearby, Migros, which has everything you need. You have to buy water to drink, as the tap water isn't very good for drinking. When we arrived, the entire property seemed deserted, as it was early in the season, however, the weather was beautiful and sunny and it was like having a private pool. When we arrived, the refrigerator wasn't working, they tried to fix it, but couldn't so on the 3rd day, we had a new refrigerator. Would have been better if we had the fridge from the beginning, but at least we got one eventually. The tv only caught 2 stations, one was a music video channel, the other one was a news channel. if you want more channels, it is an extra charge. There is a DVD player in the unit. It would be nice if there was more info as far as what is available to use and to do. A car is a neccessity, you are very far from everything. We got picked up from the bus stop and as we were being driven to the property, I wondered where the heck we were going, because it was on a long winding road in the boondocks, and I couldn't imagine that the place in the pictures would be our destination, but it was. Bodrum is about a 20-30 minute drive from Flamingo. We liked the Royal Heights restaurant,as well as Sunset which are both nearby. The food at the Royal Heights restaurant was reasonable, and excellent. The key holder is a fellow named Ozan, or Ozzie, and he and his wife are wonderful people. They can rent you a car as well as arrange any activities. His office is very close by, I highly recommend you use his services. We rented a car from him, and booked a boat trip- 5 stops on the boat where you can swim, including a stop at a beach where we rode camels for 10 TL ($5 more or less) The boat excursion included round trip transportation, the boat trip with lunch, soft drinks, beer, and wine and it was 100 TL ~ $50-60 per person. He also recommended a fish restaurant which is on the lake, and we enjoyed it so much, we went back again. To sum it up, I would rent here again, or try the Royal Heights property, which looked more upscale and higher quality, but in any case, we would definitely deal with Ozzie again, as he was very helpful, and even dropped us off at the bus station.
