Home description
Lease Cottage, originally bought for ourselves to enjoy at weekends, dates back to the 1500s and has been sympathetically and completely renovated whilst losing none of its charm - having 2 inglenook fireplaces (housing woodburning stoves and cloam ovens), exposed beams and Cornish slate slab floors in the kitchen and dining rooms.
Situated in a sheltered valley, the cottage is only 300yds off the moor - up the hill and over the cattle grid. Half a mile away is Blisland - with its famous award winning CAMRA pub, new ,excellent, village store (having internet cafe and PO) and Parish Church.
Both North and South coasts are within a 30min drive away as is the Eden project, NT properties, and superb dog walking areas - Camel Trail, Cardinham Woods, Daymer Bay.

The West Country / Cornwall region
Cornwall is renound for the coastline with fine, golden, sandy beaches, the moorland , wonderful gardens, and NT houses. There is fine surfing to be had on the North Coast and fishing trips from the small ports on the south coast. The world wide acclaimed Eden Project is only 12 miles, less than half an hour's drive as are many North and South coast beaches.
Pencarrow, Cothele, Lanhydrock, Helegan, Trelissick are just a few of the many houses and gardens nearby for which Cornwall is famous. Golfers are spoiled for choice, Lanhydrock and Lostwithel courses being a few minutes drive and Truro and Rock being easily accessible.
Bikes can be hired in Bodmin to cycle, or one can walk, the Camel trail - the old railway line between Wenford and Padstow. Part of this track also has the Bodmin and Wenford Steam Railway running regularly in the summer.
Bodmin / Blisland area
Blisland is a small but thriving village with the CAMRA winning Blisland Inn at its centre. The pub is truly a real, old fashioned, village pub serving a selection of local brews as well as standard drinks plus excellent, reasonably priced food.
The beautiful village church stands facing the pub across the village green, rare in Cornwall. Just off the far corner of this well kept green is the new, excellent ,Village Store and Post Office that incorporates an internet cafe and also serves snacks.
A short walk through lanes and you are on Bodmin Moor, wildly beautiful and rugged where ponies, cattle and sheep wander. Half way between Blisland and St. Breward (another lovely village with excellent pub and beautiful chuch) the road goes over the wonderful ancient Dephi 'clapper' bridge.
Bodmin is the nearest town some 4 miles away with its quaint steets, shire hall and massive ruined 19c county Jail where one can have a tour and also dine in an excellent restaurant - well worth a visit.
