Wheel Cross Cottage is set in amazing rural countryside within reach of Helman Tor and it's Nature Reserve with it's 536 acres of open woodland and water, practically on it's doorstep.
This idyllic cottage is located in a small hamlet, close to the village of Lanivet, the Camel Trail, Camel Valley Winery and the Eden Project. Also Llanhydrock National Trust House, Gardens and golf course are easily accessible. Wheel Cross Cottage is situated at the midway point along the "Saints Way", 17 miles from Padstow and equal distance from Fowey.
This is truly a perfect location for the cyclist, rambler, golfer or anyone who enjoys the tranquillity of the countryside.

What ever time of year you choose to visit North Cornwall you can be guaranteed of plenty to do. You can enjoy rugged cliff top or quiet countryside walks, cycling, surfing or relaxing on many glorious sandy beaches. Cornwall really is a place of outstanding natural beauty.
Enjoy the cultural centres of Penzance, St Ives, Mousehole and Lands End which all have their own charm. Visit the Minack theatre where you can enjoy an outside performance with an enchanting back drop. Don't forget to bring your picnic hamper and wine! A must for Restaurant lovers is Jamie Oliver's "fifteen" at Watergate Bay. It's a good idea to book on line before you come down to avoid disappointment if you want to eat here!
Newquay boasts the only zoo in Cornwall, where they fully support overseas conservation. The Blue Reef Aquarium allows you to have a close encounter with a shark or stingray! Newquay boasts an excellent tennis centre situated in beautiful Trenance Gardens, and a swimming and fun pool.
Bodmin / Lanivet area
Why not cycle along the famous "Camel Trail" between Bodmin and Padstow, winding through some of Cornwall's most beautiful and little-known countryside. Walk along "Saint's Way" between Padstow and Fowey. Visit the County Geological site of Helman Tor Nature Reserve with the remains of a Neolithic hill settlement.
The private Bodmin and Wenford Railway runs from the Cornwall mainline at Bodmin Parkway to Bodmin General station in the town of Bodmin. From here it goes on to Boscarne Junction. This railway is Cornwall's only standard gauge steam railway. The Railway is typical of a branch line in the 1950's. Great Western steam tank engines are the main locomotives to be seen here but diesel traction is also used, particularly on Saturdays. Not for the faint hearted "Paranormal Ghost Walk Nights" are being held at Bodmin Jail on 10th November and 1st December 07.
The Eden Project is within a 20 minute drive of Lanivet. Tintagel Castle with it's mythical links with King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table is 30 minutes away by car. Why not visit Wadebridge, Bodmin, Lostwithiel and Fowey. Sandy beaches are a 20 minute drive to the north and south coast.
How to get there
Leave the A30 and branch left, then merge onto the A38 (signposted Launceston, Bodmin, Liskeard). After 1.39 miles bear left. At the T-junction turn right onto the A389 (signposted Bodmin), after 0.33 miles at the roundabout take the 1st exit onto Turf Street - B3268 (signposted Lostwithiel). After 2.16 miles at the roundabout take the 2nd exit onto the B3268 (signposted St Blazey, Lostwithiel). After 0.54 miles turn right, after 0.25 miles turn right and after 0.88 miles arrive at Fenton Pitts. Wheel Cottage is on the right.

Set in amazing countryside with south facing views of Helman Tor and the nature reserve practically on your doorstep, this is truly a perfect place to be based for anyone who enjoys rambling amongst the peace tranquility of the countryside.
The adjoining paddock to the property provides great scope for children wishing to have an adventure and who might like to camp out for a few nights (camping tents and equipment not provided).
The cottage is only two miles from Lanhydrock, approximately five miles from the Eden Project, close to the village of Lanivet, half way along the `Saints Way` and seventeen miles from Padstow and Fowey respectively. It`s close proximity to the A30 makes Wheel Cross Cottage the perfect self catering holiday home from which to explore Cornwall.

KITCHEN Overlooks the garden and fields. Electric hob and Rayburn oven. The Rayburn is oil fueled and heats the property, in addition during the winter months the Owner provides free wood for the fires.
DINING ROOM Dining table and chairs with open fire and stairs leading to the first floor:

BEDROOM THREE Twin beds, antique wardrobe and chest of drawers.
HEATING Oil fueled Rayburn and woodburners, wood supplied by the Owner.
OUTSIDE There is a large enclosed garden to the front and at the rear a garden and patio area with garden furniture. Beyond the garden there is an adjoining paddock.
PARKING Gravelled drive with parking for 4 cars
OTHER FACILITIES The water supply for the cottage is from a bore hole in the garden, under an apple tree, from where it is filtered and pressurised.
CAMPING Camping in the field behind the cottage is permitted by prior arrangement should any family members like to bring their own tent.
PET FRIENDLY A maximum of 2 dogs are welcome in this property but must not be left unattended. Please bring your own pet bedding. Pets are not permitted on the furniture or in the bedrooms and we ask that dogs are kept on a lead and supervised at all times whilst outside the property. Please remove all traces of pets from the property and garden at the end of your stay.

Conditions
All bookings are subject to a booking fee of £20.
A 30% deposit is required in order to confirm the booking and the balance is payable 8 weeks before the commencement of the holiday.
A security bond of £200 is required upon payment of the balance, which is refunded following your departure, in line with our terms and conditions.
An additional charge of £25 per week is made for dogs.
Payment can be made by debit card or cheque with no surcharge, or credit card which incurs a 3% surcharge. If you feel happier we are able to take card details over the phone rather than by post on the booking form or email.
