The private Bodmin and Wenford Railway runs from the Cornwall mainline at Bodmin Parkway to Bodmin General station in the town of Bodmin. From here it goes on to Boscarne Junction. This railway is Cornwall's only standard gauge steam railway. The Railway is typical of a branch line in the 1950's. Great Western steam tank engines are the main locomotives to be seen here but diesel traction is also used, particularly on Saturdays. Not for the faint hearted "Paranormal Ghost Walk Nights" are being held at Bodmin Jail on 10th November and 1st December 07.

The Eden Project is within a 20 minute drive of Lanivet. Tintagel Castle with it's mythical links with King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table is 30 minutes away by car. Why not visit Wadebridge, Bodmin, Lostwithiel and Fowey. Sandy beaches are a 20 minute drive to the north and south coast.
