Whilst retaining considerable charm, this detached cottage has been the subject of sympathetic extension and renovation over recent years. There is a small storm porch which opens into the dining room with its slate flag floor, beamed ceiling and wood burner (which is set in a large granite fireplace with a clome oven). In the adjoining sitting room there are also beams, a large fireplace with clome oven and wood burner, with the addition of a LCD tv and dvd player. The conservatory has fitted blinds, a slate flag floor and overlooks the enclosed securely fenced and private front gardens with its mature shrubs, flowers and boundaries, it is mainly laid to lawn. The kitchen is very well appointed with an electric cooker and an oil fired Aga. There is a microwave (with grill and convection oven), coffee maker, toaster, dishwasher, ipod docking station for mp3 etc, and again this room is finished with a slate flag floor.
There are two staircases, one from the kitchen and one from the dining room. Leading from the kitchen are the stairs to the master bedroom, this has the benefit of its own adjoining bathroom. The other two bedrooms (a double and a twin) are via a staircase from the dining room and are served by a shower room.
There are summer and winter duvets along with both feather and anti alergy pillows.
In addition to the high chair, a travel cot is avalable.
|Further details outdoors|
Externally the front the property is approached on the lower side from the lane where there is a parking bay (for one car) and large stone and slate built garden/log store. A footpath then leads from here into the front gardens where there are a table and chairs. To the side of the cottage and beyond the conservatory there is a further large raised garden area with teak bench and table. To the rear is large modern detached double garage block with its two up and over doors and rear access door. The garage is accessed from an adjacent lane and through its own double gates onto a forecourt parking area ( 4 cars) in front of the garages. Behind the garages and cottage is a further large area of garden laid to lawn which is gently sloping with mature conifer hedging with open country views beyond. This is ideal as a dog run or to play football in as it is fully fenced. There is a barbeque for guest's use in the garage along with additional teak garden furniture. The garden is fully and securely fenced.
The West Country region
The county of Cornwall is a place of contrasts, from the rugged moorlands, to the lush valleys and dramatic coastline, there is something for everyone.
There is so much to do in this beautiful area both indoors and outdoors. There is plenty of history in the area and the historical sites of Lanhydrock House and Pendennis Castle and certainly worth a visit.
Go on a family day out to the Eden Project and see some exotic plants and flowers from all around the world.
Visit Lands End where there is some breathtaking coastline or go to one of the infamous beaches and either relax in the golden sands or hit the waves and join the infamous surfing community of the area.
The Village of Blisland is a stroll down through the lane from the cottage. Here is one of the largest village greens in the county, with a beautiful church, village shop and well known CAMRA pub (which is very dog friendly and has an excellent and good value menu . The market town of Bodmin is approximately 6 miles to the south. The cottage is less than ten minutes drive from the A30 which gives fast access to the rest of Cornwall and Devon. The villages of Padstow (Rick Stein) and Port Issac (Doc Martin) are only a few miles away, with the Eden Project being a little further. In Bodmin is the Bodmin and Wenford steam railway. The internationally award winning Camel Valley vineyard is in the valley below the village. The Camel Trail gives safe cycling all the way from the bottom of the valley through Wadebridge to Padstow. Bikes can be hired in Bodmin, Wadebridge and Padstow. There are numerous beaches within and easy drive and great walking along the coast, across the moors and through extensive local woodland.

"We couldn't have chosen a better place to spend our time in Cornwall."
Five of us, all artists and older ladies, decided to spend time in Cornwall because it is such a beautiful place: pastoral fields, high moors, quaint towns and coastal villages. Ben Wood's cottage in Blisland was perfect. He's obviously spared no expense to make his guests comfortable and welcomed. The cottage was spacious, with a great sun room, kitchen and sitting room - not to mention the convenient laundry room. The beds were comfortable, internet convenient, and we were close to a great pub and village green. The countryside all around the cottage and town was magnificent, and the people all friendly and welcoming. One caution: The roads are narrow, with high hedges that camoflage stone walls!! Charming, but somewhat difficult to navigate (until we got used to them!)I don't hesitate to recommend the cottage to anyone considering a pastoral holiday in Cornwall. And, while we didn't have any dogs, the dog run was obviously created by a dog-lover. Nice and long, with plenty of room to romp and play. Ben also made himself very accessible the couple of times we needed questions answered. It's altogether a super place.

"Total relaxation in a beautiful cottage"
I stayed at Lease Cottage in Blisland with my husband, 6 year old daughter and our 3 dogs( 1 Jack Russell and 2 English Setters)
From first enquiring about staying at Lease Cottage, the service from Ben was fantastic.
The cottage itself is beautiful, we felt instantly at home. Set in a very quiet lane, perfect for total relaxation. The quality of everything is of a very high standard, including the bedding and towels. Everything is thought of, even games and books. We could not fault the cleanliness of it either. The gardens are very private and secure, and the dog run is a god send.
The village of Blisland is lovely and we found the locals very friendly and helpful. We went to the local pub The Blisland Inn a few times and we did have a meal , which was great and there was plenty of it! also child and dog friendly. Some lovely country walks around Blisland too.
The beaches which are only a short car drive are stunning, our daughter and our dogs loved it
We absolutely loved our stay at Lease Cottage and were really sad to leave, but most definitely booking up again for next year.

"A lovely dog friendly cottage in quiet village location with enclosed, secluded gardens"
My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful week in Lease Cottage, as did our two English Setter dogs. The spacious accommodation was excellent with a high standard of cleanliness.
The enclosed and secluded garden was great for the two dogs as they could play safely and was also a perfect suntrap for us to relax in the evenings.
Overall, a great base with easy access to beaches, plenty of moorland walks direct from the door and a lovely village pub ( CAMRA awards) just two minutes walk from the cottage.
My wife and I (and dogs) would highly recommend a stay at Lease Cottage and we've booked another visit in September.

"A 'Blisful' holiday, particularly if you're dog lovers"
We, along with our dogs, have been going to Lease Cottage for many years; a lovely peaceful setting in Blisland, which has easy access to a good village shop with internet facility, CAMRA pub and church. Secluded gardens with a great 'run' at the back of the house for dogs. Easy access to beaches and walks on both the north and south coasts. Continuous improvements by initially Jenny and now Ben, keep it on top form.
Not too good for the elderly or infirm, particularly the steps at the back of the house can be a bit tricky especially in wet weather.
