The West Country region

Cornwall is a beautiful location for a holiday- whether you're looking for an action packed holiday or a more relaxed break you will find something for you here. Famous for its miles of beautiful beaches, rugged moor land, fascinating clay country and pretty woodland, Cornwall has so much to offer. There are many interesting towns and villages to explore, from historic towns such as Bodmin and Launceston, to small fishing communities such as Padstow, Port Isaac and Mevagissy. Throughout the year there are plenty of local festivals where local music, art and culinary skills are proudly displayed. During the summer months there are events happening most weekends, our personal favourites include the Rock Oyster festival, Wadebridge folk festival and Looe Music festival. Cornwall is proud of the many attractions it has to offer visitors including the brilliant Eden project, Lost Gardens of Heligan, Heartlands, Crealy and Newquay zoo to name but a few.

Bodmin itself is placed centrally within the county and therefore provides an excellent base for exploring the whole region. Beaches on the North and South coasts are as little as 20 minutes away by car. The Eden project is a short drive away, as is Lanhydrock House, Lanhydrock Golf club, the pretty town of Lostwithiel and Bodmin Moor. The town itself has plenty to offer. Milobel house is positioned at the top end of Bodmin's main street which offers a great range of shops, cafes and bars. Main attractions in Bodmin include the fascinating Bodmin Jail (also a great place to eat out), THe Shire Hall, Camel trail and Bodmin and Wentford Steam Railway. There are also now two new cycle trails open at Cardinham Woods and Lanhydrock house (where cycle hire is available), both of these are just a couple of miles from the house and well loved by children and adults alike! Our personal favourite places include Polzeath beach for surfing, Readymoney Cove for swimming, the Camel trail for Cycling, Truro for shopping and Port Isaac for a cream tea!
