Tucked down a private lane off the A389 on the edge of East Wood just outside of Bodmin in Dunmere. The Stable is a new barn conversion. The Stable is an ideal base for exploring the nearby beaches of Polzeath, Trevose and of course, your stay would not be complete with a walk or cycle along The Camel Trail taking in Wadebridge and Padstow.

A reverse living house, the open plan style is presented with great style and panache. There is room for 2 small or 1 medium dog with their own special porch for sleeping in.

The living space has a vaulted ceiling and the floor is finished in slate. There is a cosy seating area with a flat screen TV and DVD. There is dining for four and a fitted kitchen complete with a dishwasher and microwave.

Downstairs there are two bedrooms. One with a king sized bed and the other with beds that can be singles or a hugely comfortable and spacious superking. The sparkling bathroom is between and has a bath with a shower over and plenty of storage. The bedrooms both have wardrobes and chest of drawers with bedside tables.

The Stable has an enclosed outside area with table and benches - there is access to fields that belongs to the owner of The Dairy next door. The River Camel runs through the ground and guests are welcome to fish here. Guests will need to purchase a rod licence but this can be arranged locally.

The Camel Trail is literally on your door step - bring your own bicycles or hire locally - the Property Manager will be happy to direct you to local agents.

Don't forget to visit the Camel Valley Winery - just down the road from The Stable.

The Stable is ideal as a base from which to discover Cornwall. In less than a 30 minute drive you can be surfing in Polzeath or enjoying fish and chips in Padstow to the north or wandering through Truro's cobbled streets enjoying some retail therapy to the south. The Eden Project is just a 30 minute drive away. During the summer weeks come and enjoy The Eden Sessions where many top acts perform.

We all had a lovely holiday in The Stable - very memorable. Lovely location, beautifully decorated and 30 minutes from everything. Will be back soon! August 2013

The Camel Trail:

The Camel Trail is right on your door step and is great for cycling or walking – you can do circular loops for a quick walk from The Stable. A great cottage for dogs. Great for bird watching – you will often come across groups of twitchers who are happy to share information and rare spots, also mushroom and rare plant hunters.

There is excellent bike hire in Wadebridge, especially if you want to hire for more than one day.

Fishing:

Licences are available locally for river fishing – you can walk out of The Stable and be in position on the bank in 5 minutes.

Tintagel:

The castle is very dog friendly be aware of the steps though. Has the best pasties in the shop near the castle corner and you can watch them being made.

Padstow:

There are so many pasty shops in one place and again lots of dog friendly places. Cycle on The Camel Trail and stop at Dougal's tea bike stop for great drink and cake. If you go across the no cycle zone there's a bike storage places that is covered for £1 if the weather is mixed.

Walk into Bodmin and back – an excellent walk - Bodmin is not as fashionable as other places but worth the walk all the same. Visit the Bodmin Jailhouse and experience a Courtroom (without penalty!) There is a dog friendly green café and nice independent shops. Cycle in the other direction on The Camel Trail to the end. If you go onto the lanes for about 1 mile to the village of Blisland there is a great pub serving lovely food with six real ales on tap. Again dog friendly.

Polperro:

A lovely day out. Lots of art galleries and art shows and is very busy but there is more parking here than at Boscastle.

Lostwithiel:

A trendy place with lots of antique shops and refurbished old houses. There is a dog friendly pub om te centre.

Wadebridge:

Recommended for lots of small independent shops – great pubs, wine shop, butchers and fishmonger.

Dog Friendly Beaches:

Trevarrion (remember your 20p for the car park!)

Hurlyn Bay (£4 for a day in the car park)

Borough Arms – nearest pub

Good food, dogs welcome and very handy if you decide not to cook when staying at The Stable. The desserts are fabulous and huge so you might want to share!

Camel Valley Vineyard:

A trip here is worth making. Try the local champagne – very nice indeed.
