Speyside Way offers excellent family holiday accommodation including an enclosed landscaped garden with patio and a garage for storing bikes. It is very well located in the heart of Boat of Garten for all local facilities including hotels, restaurants and children's play parks. The town itself lies by the River Spey and is surrounded by some of the best of Scottish scenery with views to the heather clad Cairngorms Mountains. The mountains form the heart of the Cairngorm National Park with magnificent native woodlands to explore and a vast range of wildlife to be seen.
The local area has wonderful opportunities for all types of outdoor recreation including the renowned Aviemore Ski resort, mountain biking (bikes can be hired locally), pony trekking and good access to local walks including the Speyside Way. There are superb opportunities for wildlife watching including Ospreys at the RSPB Abernethy Forest Reserve on the shore of Loch Garten; Cappercailie can also be seen if you are an early riser. There is a local bird hide at Milton Loch which is within 250m of the house as is the Boat of Garten 18 hole golf course.
A treat for everyone can be had by booking Sunday Lunch on the Strathspey Railway Steam Train.
Boat of Garten is well placed for touring with easy access to Inverness the Capital of the Highlands and the Moray Firth with its superb beaches and the chance to see dolphins in their natural habitat.

Fine place to stay.
Initially a somewhat confusing booking as we found it difficult to determine if only a one week booking was accepted, and if children were allowed. However, our queries were swiftly dealt with by Discover Scotland and the owners. We stayed for 4 nights with an energetic 8 month old baby.
Initial phone calls with the owners to arrange key pick up were friendly and efficient and they were quite flexible. Directions to property were fine .A lovely welcome by owners on arrival, with a nice chat and a show around. They were very keen to make our stay enjoyable, even down to a bottle of wine chilling in fridge! Once that was done we were left to our own devices and it was great that they weren't in our faces afterwards, but were very open to being contacted should any difficulties or queries arise. Very comfortable base from which to explore the Highlands
Booked the house at last minute and we were not disappointed. From the warm welcome of the owner (that's a first for us) and a bottle of wine (another first) we were very impressed with the level of accommodation. The house was clean, comfortable and situated in a quiet area - what more can you ask for? Everything worked and there was so much attention to detail that it was just like staying in your own home. Both the agency and the owner were very pleasant and helpful. The property fitted the bill perfectly for us in that it was well placed near the centre of the village, was spotlessly clean, well equipped and comfortable. The garage was very useful for storing bikes and other sports equipment and the secluded garden provided a pleasant place to sit out. Useful additions would be wifi and a washing line.
