About the home

Gable House, Blockley is a large and wonderful Cotswold holiday cottage (home!) set in one of our most idyllic and desirable Cotswolds villages. The house which is spacious, secure and extremely well located is ideal for families or small groups who want to enjoy the best of the Cotswolds - right from the front door. Internally the cottage is presented in immaculate condition with good sized rooms throughout.

Outside there is a completely enclosed south facing garden with pond (including protective safety device) which is simply ideal for those sun downers! Located in the gorgeous village of Blockley, with its award winning farmer's shop and pubs this really has it all for a great holiday cottage vacation.

ACCOMMODATION

Entrance through to hallway, leading to living room and kitchen/diner.
Living Room with exposed beams, oak flooring and brick fireplace with old wooden lintel is a woodburning stove style electric fire. Two comfortable two seater sofas and two armchairs, 27” TV, Video & DVD. Radio with CD player with Mission speakers
Kitchen / Living Room with slate floor. Recently fitted units with oak worktops and breakfast bar. Range cooker with five gas hobs (one with gridle plate) and two electric ovens, grill and warming drawer for plates and dishes, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, cafetiere.
Dining Area with pine dining table and six chairs, bookcase with books including ones with items of interest on the Cotswolds.
Utility Room with sink, washing machine and tumble dryer. Ironing board and iron.
Cloakroom with WC and washbasin.

Upstairs
Master Bedroom with double bed, wardrobes, dressing table, chest of drawers, trouser press, TV plus a ches with toys! Hairdryer. En suite Bathroom with Shower, WC and washbasin.
Bedroom Two with 5’ wide double bed. Two bedside cupboards with lamps, chest of drawers and wardrobe.
Bedroom Three with twin beds, chest of drawers and built in wardrobe.
Family Bathroom with bath with shower over bath. WC and wash basin.

Further details outdoors:
There is a lovely garden enclosed by high Cotswold stone wall. Laid to grass and flower beds with good size patio area. Wooden circular table and chairs with sun umbrella. Sit beside the large pond and watch the fish swimming around. A special child safety “Pond Safe” grid has been fitted to ensure the pond is safe, even for small children. A lovely peaceful garden, with views of the rolling Cotswold hills in the distance.

Conditions

A small dog is permitted by prior arrangement. (please note that pets must be kept downstairs and off furniture and never left alone in the house. There is a large kennel in the garden which you are welcome to use.)

The Blockley area

Blockley is a stunning Cotswold village located in the North Cotswolds, between Chipping Campden and Moreton in Marsh in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The village has a number of excellent facilities including the new Blockley Shop and Cafe, where hot food, home-made cakes, croissants and just about everything including newspapers and magazines. The local pub serves meals or food can be purchased to take away.

Almost all Cotswolds locations are within an easy drive, including Stow on the Wold, Moreton in Marsh, Broadway, Chipping Campden and Burford. Many local attractions are also within an hour

At the risk of sounding repetitive, it would impossible not to comment on how exceedingly well equipped the house is. Having stayed at quite a few cottages, the standard and quality at Gable House exceeds most if not all! Wehave had an exceedingly enjoyable stay - helped by the house, location and far better weather than expected!

We thoroughly enjoyed staying in your lovely home. Everything we needed was here. My daughter loved the kitchen and cooked us some lovely meals using local produce plus herbs from the garden! We found Blockley very central to the many villages in the Cotswolds. What a wonderful place to finish our last two weeks in the UK.

We had a lovely short break here prior to our daughter going off to Beijing to work. The house is charming, lovely and warm and everything so clean and neat. Blockley is a delight and we made sure we did our shopping there and can recommend the 'Blockley Argentine Malbec' to accompany dinner.
