Home description

The accommodation is over two floors. The ground floor offers an open-plan lounge and kitchen with dining room off. There is also a shower room and w.c.. The first floor has a large open-plan master bedroom and landing, leading to a large second bedroom and family bathroom.

Our garden is laid mainly to lawn and shrubs, above-ground swimming pool (shared) and children's activity area. The rural setting and location is perfect for both active, family holidays and for 'getting-away-from-it-all'.

The Brittany / Morbihan region

Within easy reach of the cottage, guests will find a variety of beaches offering long sandy stretches or rocky coves. The immediate countryside offers excellent opportunities for walking and cycling.
Brittany and Morbihan is steeped in history and the Breton people are fiercely proud of their celtic roots. There are many historical sites, for example the Standing Stones at Carnac and great chateaux such as those at Pontivy and Josselin.Throughout the year, local towns and villages hold festivals which celebrate their celtic heritage, gastronomy and culture.
More recent history is commemorated with the Museum of the Resistance at Malestroit and the Submarine 'pens' at Lorient.

Blavet Valley / Baud area

Every summer, the Inter-Celtic Festival of music and dance is held in Lorient, attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors. This year, the featured celtic nation is Wales. Also in July, the Tour de France cycle race will pass within a couple of miles of the cottage.
Public facilities at the Lac au Duc (Ploermel) offer guests the chance to enjoy sailing, canoeing and water skiing. There is also a man-made beach, ideal for very young children. Other nearby facilities include canoe and pedalo hire, horse riding, golf and fishing.

How to get there

Within minutes of the N24, a major dual-carriageway, the hamlet is just a 2 hour drive from the ports of Roscoff and St Malo. The region is well served by airports at Rennes, Lorient, Brest, Dinard and Nantes. All of the major car rental companies have offices at each. Detailed directions are available upon booking.

On the first floor, the open-plan, master bedroom has a double bed and single futon while the second bedroom is equipped with bunk beds and 2 singles. The dining room offers additional sleeping accommodation with a comfortable, double sofa-bed.

The fitted kitchen is well equipped to cater for families. For guests with very young children, we provide cots, high chairs and stair gates.

Although capable of accommodating larger groups, we recommend that parties should not exceed 6 (plus infants in cots).

The cottage is set in its own large garden which is laid mainly to lawn and shrubs. The above-ground swimming pool (5.5 x 3.3m) and children's play area is shared with our guests in the adjacent cottage.

Bookings commence at 4:00pm on the first day of the rental period and end at 10:00am on the last day.

Please note that the swimming pool is unsupervised. Guests use it at their own risk and young children must be supervised at all times by an appropriate adult.
