In a peaceful rural location with basic provisions and bars/restaurants within 5km. Larger supermarkets and banks at 13km. A 30 minute drive from the coast, the medieval town of Vannes and the picturesque Gulf of Morbihan. 40 minutes to the sandy beaches and prehistoric sites of Carnac and La Trinité.

The Brittany / Morbihan region

Inland Morbihan offers a variety of scenic countryside and forests dotted with small hamlets of two or three houses. Further south on the coast lies the Gulf of Morbihan and the towns of Vannes and Auray. The extensive gulf is said to have as many islands as days of the year and is popular for its boattrips and its numerous panoramic viewpoints. Vannes is the capital of the department of Morbihan - a medieval town with ancient ramparts and a long marina running from the gulf up to the entrance of the old town. Auray is an old market town and busy fishing port offering views over the gulf and a popular Monday market. Beaches and rock formations stretch the length of the coast.
Southern Brittany has a relatively warm climate with short, mild winters and long sunny summers. The warm gulf stream makes the area especially popular for watersports and sailing.

Blavet Valley / La Chapelle Neuve area

The nearest towns are Baud, Locminé and Pluvigner, all at approximately 13km. These towns boast a full range of shops, bars, restaurants and cafés, as well as supermarkets and banking facilities. Tennis and swimming are also available at Locminé and Baud. Each town has a regular market day and there many festivals during the summer months food, drink, market stalls and music. At nearby Bieuzy-Lanvaux there is a large lake and riding facilities and close by at Camors there is a forest activity centre. There a some excellent golf courses about 30 minutes drive away including the former PGA course at St Laurent.

By Ferry - St Malo (2 hours drive), Roscoff (2 hrs), Caen (3.5 hrs), Cherbourg (4.5 hrs).
