Le Petit Diamant - Front of house and garden

Key Info

  • Private garden

The cottage is a semi-detached property situated in the village of Kermorheven (maps may spell this Kermorhivin) which is a pretty little hamlet of about ten cottages. It is in the Blavet Valley and there are local walks and bike rides through woods and along the river Blavet.

The cottage has been fully renovated in the last five years but still has original features such as a woodburner and exposed beams. The bedroom is on the first floor and has an en suite shower room and there is also a downstairs bathroom. The downstairs of the cottage also has a large living/dining room and a small kitchen off the lounge. The living room has a large three seater settee which opens into a double bed to sleep two extra people if necessary. It should be noted that the cottage has a very steep original staircase and is not suitable for people with disabilities or young children.

The nearest village is St Hilaire, about one kilometre away. The nearest village with facilities is St Barthelemy which is about four kilometres away. This has bars, a garage, Mairie, boulangerie, hairdresser, post office and a small but well stocked supermarket behind the church. Baud is the nearest town and is about ten kilometres away. It has every facility, including two large supermarkets, a swimming pool and the famous post-card museum. The largest town nearby is Pontivy, Napolean's capital of Brittany, with the splendid castle of the Rohan family (15th C) and good markets and shopping. Pontivy is around 25 minutes away whilst the lovely coast of west Brittany is only 35 to 40 minutes away by car, to such places as Lamour Plage, Guidel Plage and historic Port Louis.

There is a very pretty local village nearby called St Nicolas des Eaux where you can hire bikes, canoes and pedalos and eat galettes, crepes or have more formal restaurant meals. Should you wish to fish, you will need a 'Permis' available from one of the bars to fish in the river Blavet.

There is a walk down through the woods to the river and then you are able to walk along the river for miles in either direction.

Short term lets can be available and also longer term lets - please contact to discuss further if required.

The cottage needs to be vacated by 10am on the final day - and is available to new visitors from 4pm on the first day of their holiday to allow for cleaning, changing beds and gardening for each new visitor.
