About the home

Relax and unwind in the perfect setting that is Saint Nicolas des Eaux one of Brittany' prettiest riverside villages (with it's amenities on hand just 300 metres from the cottage). The newly renovated Nut Tree Cottage is situated in a quiet lane in the heart of the small friendly village that is St Nicolas. The cosy main bedroom has en suite facilities; downstaires the beamed cottage is arranged in traditional french style, lounge/kitchen dining room and log buring stove. The second bedroom, with it's own en suite facilities, is in the annex (see photos - hence will not be suitable for very young children) . Outside the large decked terrace leads the garden with views over the Blavet Valley.


The village (just 300 metres from the cottage) has a number of amenities including the area tourist office for the blavet valley, a local store/bistrot, creperie, several typical village bars (one which hosts regular music concerts) and two hotel/restaurants. Facilities for golf, horse riding, pedaloes, canoeing, angling and go karting are all close by. On the doorstep are wonderful riverside walks along the towpaths of the canalised river blavet, "nature at it's best".

Reservations will be held for a period of 14 days in which time we request:
A non refundable deposit of 25% of the total rental value
The completed Booking Form
The signed Terms and Conditions Form

The balance of payment is required 6 weeks prior to arrival date.
We request an additional separate payment of £150 to cover any damages, which in the event of no damage will be returned to you within 14 days of your deperture. Please pay your security deposit at the same time as your rental balance.
It is stongly advised that you take out appropriate insurance to cover your holiday. (Also E111 health cover)
'Out of season' rentals are subject to a supplement if central heating is required, please contact owner for details

The Blavet Valley / St Nicolas des Eaux area

The charming village of Saint Nicolas des Eaux is well placed to explore the many atractions nearby. The Napolionic town of Pontivy is just 15 minutes away, and within easy reach by car the beautiful old city of Vannes, the wonderful Golf of Morbihan with its labyrinth of 40 islands, Carnac - the largest open air megalithic museum in France, Quiberon with its beautiful beaches and access to the charming island of Belle-Ile, the list is endless.............bonnes vacances!

St. Nicolas des Eaux is just 2 hours drive from St. MALO and ROSCOFF ferry ports, CHERBOURG and CAEN are a little further away but via excellent roads.
The region is well served with aeroportes, RENNES, LORIENT, BREST, NANTES, and DINAN, where all major car rental companies operate a car hire service.

“Lovely, comfortable Cottage in an idyllic Location” Stayed in May . We chose this Cottage for its idyllic location in a Village on the River Blavet. It proved a superb choice, and the Cottage was really lovely, excellent for us.It has been lovingly restored by the owners, with modern touches which only add to its charm,and is equipped with everything one could need. It exceeded expectations .It is in a very quiet spot and has a superb setting with great views over the Blavet. It is also within strolling distance of all the facilties in St Nicolas des Eaux. St Nicolas Des Eaux is an excellent place to stay, very central for sightseeing.The Village itself is so picturesque, one can walk for miles alongside the river, on an excellent towpath, there is fishing, boat trips, a very nice Creperie as well as a couple of Hotels, and Bars, and a convenience store . Venturing further afield, the coast is not far, well worth a visit is Carnac and also Vannes, the port at Auray,to mention a few. There are so many other places well worth a visit,the owners Ket and Odile, are very happy to help with suggestions, if you wish. We enjoyed The Cottage, and the Area very much,ans are planning to return next year.
