About the home

One double bedroom with an ensuite bathroom and galleried bedroom window. Downstairs is open plan living with a well equipped kitchen and living area.
Guests have their own garden area with garden furniture and barbecue, plus have the use of our games room and communal lawn with a selection of garden games.
Situated one mile up a quiet country lane, the walking and cycling from the doorstep is superb. Walk one mile cross country to our local farm shop for locally produced cakes, cheeses and bread. Pimperne is just one mile away, with two pubs, a church and a well stocked shop/post office.The surrounding area is awash with lovely pubs, and historic places to visit such as the National Trusts Kingston Lacy House, ancient Badbury Rings, or the beautiful towns of Salisbury and Dorchester.

We provide you with welcome tea, coffee and cake pack on arrival, and the house is supplied with loo rolls, washing up liquid, dish washer tabs and light bulbs.
Bed linen and towels are included.

Please note that the last 200 meters of our road is unmade and a little bumpy. Some sports, or low bumpered cars may find this difficult. Please ring us if you are unsure and require further details

The West Country / Dorset region

Renowned for beautiful rolling hills and picturesque villages Dorset has a huge variety of entertainment for both families and individuals alike. Newfield Cottages are in the heart of the historic Cranborne Chase, with the beautiful towns of Salisbury and Dorchester just half an hour away. Beaches can be found within half an hour - the Jurassic Coast is perfect for both fossil hunters and sunbathers alike, whilst the golden sandy Beaches of Bournemouth are also within easy reach. Walking and cycling are on your doorstep. There are literally miles of footpaths starting right outside the door. Days out for the Kids are not a problem with plenty of children's attractions within a few miles. Longleat Safari Park is about 40 minutes drive as are Monkey World, The Tank Museum, and the family friendly theme Park Adventure Wonderland. Tower Park entertainment complex has cinema, bowling and a water slide park plus a range of restaurants and is only 30 minutes drive. Whether you are looking for relaxation or action Dorset has it all!

The Blandford Forum / Pimperne area

The Village of Pimperne is situated one mile away from Newfield Holiday Cottages and can be reached on foot, over the fields, for a morning walk for milk and papers. Pimperne has a well stocked village shop, two pubs and a church, and a village hall with a lovely large play area at the end of the lane. Alternatively stroll to our local Home Farm Shop for farm reared meat, home produced cakes and local cheeses. At the end of August each year our neighbouring village hosts The Great Dorset Steam Fair which is well worth a visit, as are the local National Trust houses of Kingston Lacy and the lovely fossil beaches of the Jurassic Coast.

Newfield Cottages are best reached by car. We are situated one mile up a country lane, the final part is untarmaced. In a quiet, secluded location.
Our nearest Airports are Bournemouth International and Southampton both of which have car hire available to complete your journey.

“Comfortable and quiet” Bluebell Cottage was quite delightful. It was perfect for our short stay. A very comfortable bed, lots of hot water and a great little bathroom. A nice morning patio for coffee in the early sunshine (loved the furniture - nice touch as I hate plastic chairs, etc) and an easy walk up into the countryside. The only frustrating issue for us was a very poor or non existent mobile signal which made life difficult when we had a travel issue on our last day. We didn't cook but the kitchen was quite well equipped and all nice and clean.
