The East Anglia region
Blakeney is really picturesque English seaside village. the quay is right at the end of the road where Hollyhocks cottage is situated. It is an area of outstanding natural beauty, with unusual birdlife and seals just off Blakeney point. it was Winston Churchill's favourite 'retreat'.
You can walk along the salmarshes for miles and enjoy the solitude. Blakeney however is a thriving village with lovely restaurants and unusual shops.
Blakeney is very near the estates of Hokham, Sandringham and Blicking to name a few. The best beach in Norfolk, Holkham is five minutes drive away. Well-next-the-sea, Cromer and Sheringham are close. There is a mini-beach in Blakeney, tides permitting and small canoes can be hired for children.
Children love the estuary because it is safe to paddle in and crab fisihing from the quay is a special delight. Golf nearby in Sheringham, the famous steam line, tennis, bicycle riding, sailing and swimming make Blakeney a great family holdiay choice.

"Not the best accommodation we have stayed in at Blakeney"

"Not quite as good as the picture portrayed"
The cottage was quaint, but there were one or two problems, the most inconvenient being the smelly saniloo which was sort of en-suite from the main bedroom. The general decor is in need of updating w… More

Stayed last year in Hollyhocks with my family and we all loved it and are going back again this year. It has all the charm of a country cottage, but has been renovated to include everything you would want. Every detail has been thought about. Thoroughly deserves it's four star rating and I've stayed in a few cottages. Very clean and just what we needed for a lovely holiday. Thank you

"Amazing cottage to stay"
This is one of the best cottages I've stayed in. Spotlessly clean, I couldn't fault it, spick and span. I'm booking again. Very central and just a short walk to amenities, it has been renovated with flair and consideration to the age of the property, but very creatively. It is lovely to be in Blakeney High street, but within an old walled garden and those Hollyhocks! Would not hesitate to recommend to friends
Thank you very much for your kind review.
