The Tayside/Perthshire region

This region has a contrasting landscape of lochs, mountains, forests and coastline and it's therefore no coincidence that it's one of the most popular holiday destinations in Scotland. Its popularity is easy to understand when you consider the mouth watering attractions within its boundaries; which include the beautiful Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park in the west and the wonderful forests, mountains and rivers which are characteristic of Tayside and Perthshire to the east. The city of Stirling can also be found in this area, with its rich historical significance in Scottish history and connections to William Wallace and Robert the Bruce. The beautiful and unique coastlines here, both on the west coast and east coast, are ideal holiday destinations. Stretching in the west from Oban in the north down to Strathclyde and the Ayr coast, and in the east the coast extends from Dundee and Angus south the along the Fife coast to Edinburgh.

Blairgowrie

Walking and cycling enthusiasts need not travel too far from the property as there is a fine selection of trails and tranquil back roads nearby just waiting to be explored. No less than five lochs are within easy travelling and bird watchers must visit nearby Loch of Lowes at it is home to a wonderful array of birdlife including the elusive Great Crested Grebe and even the very rare Osprey has been known to catch fish on the loch. An absolute must is of course Blairgowrie. This offers great shopping and two golf courses of championship standard as well as several standard courses. Keen gardeners must take a slow drive past the Meikleour Beech Hedge officially recognised as the tallest hedge in the world. Scone Palace is a must for history lovers as it has played an enormous part in Scottish history especially with regard to the monarchy. In addition to beautiful scenery, Pitlochry is a super place to visit. It offers a popular theatre unique in offering a different show each day. A real treat to be found during the Autumn in Pitlochry is the visually stunning Enchanted Forest. This is staged in the open air and includes an imaginative use of light and sound.
