Sea Turtle is located on Brighton Beach, at the south end of the Platinum Coast of Barbados, with direct access to the sand, and with uninterrupted views of the Caribbean Sea.

Sea Turtle is located on Brighton Beach, 2.5 miles North of Bridgetown and 3.5 miles South of Sandy Lane. Kensington Oval is walking distance and, being 4.5 miles from both Holetown and St Lawrence, the beach-house is equidistant between both the major restaurant and nightlife areas on the island.

At over 1.2 miles Brighton Beach is the longest on the Platinum Coast and when put together with Paradise Beach (where prestigious Four Seasons Resort is under construction) provides almost 2 miles of uninterrupted powder soft sand. It is the largest turtle hatchery on the island and turtles are often seen laying eggs, hatching and swimming in the surrounding waters. Green Monkeys visit the property and the garden is full of humming birds.

Being set back over 100yds from the main road, Sea Turtle does not experience the road noise suffered by most West Coast villas and because Brighton Beach is a mainly residential beach, with no hotels or apartment blocks and only a handful of properties available for holiday rental, the beach itself is almost deserted for the majority of the day/week. The water is usually calm and clear, and swimming is safe with negligible current, and a gentle slope to the sand.

Watersports are available to the North of the beach and there is a beach bar/restaurant (Weisers) 200 yds south. The nearest supermarket is walking distance, around half a mile, behind Sea Turtle.

This charming 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom, bungalow is set in a quarter of an acre of mature gardens and underwent a full refurbishment in November 2011 (including new soft and hard furnishings throughout).

In addition to 2 en-suite bedrooms, there is third bedroom, and a sofa bed in the parlour off the main lounge. These last two share the “family bathroom”. Though designed to sleep 6, there are beds for up to 10 guests should this be required.

In addition to the kitchen, laundry, and the parlour, the living area comprises of an internal 18′ x 28′ lounge with giant TV, an external 30′ x 12′ covered dining area with seating for 8, and 15′ x 30′ canopied wooden sundeck with loungers and a barbeque.

There is a full-time maid/laundress to wash-up, do laundry, and to clean and service the rooms daily. A cook can be arranged, at additional cost, if required.

The house is walking distance from Kensington Oval Cricket Ground.

NOTES:

The Master bedroom features a California King bed, and an en-suite.

Bedroom 2 has an en-suite and can be configured as a double bed, twin beds or up to 3 singles.

Bedroom 3 can also be configured as a double bed, twin beds or up to 3 singles and shares a family “washroom” with the rest of the house.

There is a sofa bed in the parlour between the kitchen and the lounge that converts into a double bed.

Rates are for up to 6 persons. A surcharge of $50 per additional person per night up to ten persons is permitted.

Longer Term Rate (14 nights +) All nights booked over 14 are charged at 50% of applicable daily rate

The St Michael Parish region

Barbados offers such an abundance of natural beauty, culture and history that the island is called “The Gem of the Caribbean.” Located about 300 miles north of Venezuela and the most Eastern of the Caribbean islands, Barbados portrays a delightful blend of West Indian culture and English Tradition. Independent since 1966, Barbados is the most developed of the Caribbean islands and Bridgetown, the 375-year-old historic capital is its colourful and bustling center of activity. Shopping, excellent dining and a funky nightlife are just a few of the many options available. There is an extensive bus system that is cheap and fast, providing an entertaining way to discover the island.

There are magnificent caves to explore, gorgeous landscapes and tropical gardens to visit, and an abundance of wildlife to see, including the mischievous little “green monkeys” that call Barbados their home. On the South and West coasts, the Caribbean Sea with calm blue waters and endless stretches of fine white sandy beaches invites you to relax, while the Atlantic east coast with cliffs and great waves is ideal for wind and sky surfing.

There is lots to do and the choice is not easy, but whether you enjoy some of the 3,000 hours of annual sunshine or chat with a friendly “Bajan” in one of the numerous little rum shops on the roadsides, make sure to relax in the comfort of your private Rental Butler villa at the end of the day. Take in the breathtaking sunsets, have a delicious local dinner prepared for you or just lean back and dream into the starry skies.
