The Menorca region
Menorca is the second largest of the Balearic islands and is smaller and quieter than its neighbour Mallorca. Situated just 34 km / 21 miles from Mallorca, the island of Menorca has many family-friendly resorts and almost as many beaches as Mallorca and Ibiza combined. Peaceful holiday resorts line the south coast of Menorca and sleepy fishing villages are dotted along Menorca's rockier northern shore.
Menorca has escaped most of the effect of package holidays and the island's small towns and villages offer a fairly quiet and relaxed holiday, even during the peak season, with many wonderful attractions. In 1993 Menorca was made a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.
Binibeca / Binibeca Vell area
The resort area of Binibeca, characterised by private white washed villas and a Spanish style fishing village complex, is perfect for a quieter, relaxing holiday.
The fine white sandy gently shelving beach (ideal for families with children) is surrounded by greenery, giving it an unspoilt setting. Sun loungers and pedaloes are available for hire and there is a beach bar set on rocks to the side of the beach for snacks and drinks.
How to get there
Just over 50% of all flights to Menorca are charter flights. Easyjet, Jet2 and Monarch Scheduled offer regular, scheduled flights from the UK to Menorca Airport. You can more or less get anywhere in Menorca within an hour so transfers from the airport should not be too long and tedious.
