"Everything needed, and more..."
My husband and I stayed at the Cheese Press Cottage for two nights and we absolutely loved it. Jane was there to give us a warm welcome when we arrived, and show us around the cottage. There were freshly baked cookies for us upon arrival.
The cottage had everything you could wish for and was very pleasant. This place was cosy, comfortable and had everything we needed. The location was fabulous and breathtaking. Some ducks on the doorstep definitely added to the atmosphere and stunning views. Apart from the amazing view, made even better by snow on the ground when we woke up. The fire provided warmth and a lovely atmosphere. It was warm and comfortable, lots of hot water and log burner for cold nights.
We really can't recommend this place enough, Jane and Richard does a marvellous job and really goes the extra mile to make it a fabulous experience. They are very helpful as we did had some issue with our car in the snow on departure and Richard has kindly helped us.
The only downside for us was that our stay was not long enough! We hope to come back to this cottage again for a longer stay. All in all I'd definitely highly recommend this superb place.
Despite only having a couple of days with us you certainly got the extremes of weather! Really pleased you enjoyed your time with us and come back and see us again - hopefully no snow! Though everywhere does look very pretty when the hills are covered in snow. Thanks for taking the time to write a review and it was very nice to meet you both. Jane

Cheese Press Cottage is one of the most perfect I have ever stayed. We arrived in dramatic snow but received a really warm and friendly from Jane. And were even treated to delicious home-made biscuits which slipped down a treat.
The cottage is beautifully kept and exceptionally well equipped and had everything we needed, particularly in the kitchen. The setting is utterly breath-taking. It was really special being able to fall out the front door into rural countryside and go exploring the area. Although there is much to explore and see, being able to relax in the cottage was entertainment enough and we were never bored.
We both felt incredibly well rested and relaxed and have recommended the cottage to many family and friends and are planning our return already!
Thank you so much for such a fantastic weekend, we really appreciated every moment of it.
It was nice to meet you and I'm so pleased you had a relaxing weekend in Cheese Press Cottage. As you say it is great to be able to walk straight from the cottage and we are lucky having a private footpath down to Biggin Dale and from there you can go in so many directions. Hope to see you both again soon.

"Fantastic festive retreat!"
Spent a lovely, cosy Christmas at Chess Press Cottage. The cottage was exactly what we had hoped for- amazing views, brilliant local walks and pubs and a cute and cosy interior. The cottage was very well equiped; we had been dubious about cooking a roast on Christmas day but there were plently of baking trays, oil, salt and pepper and utensils. We had an absolutely amazing stay and will definately be back soon!!
Really pleased you enjoyed Christmas in Cheese Press Cottage. I do try and put lots of utensils and pans in the cottage and am glad you used them when doing your festive roast! The bonus of snow as well so I am glad you managed to get out ok at the end of your stay. Jane

We booked Cheese Press Cottage as a Christmas retreat hoping for a festive, relaxing and private break away from our hectic lifestyles. It proved to be this and so much more! Upon arrival, we were in awe at the secluded location and knew we had made the perfect decision. Overwhelmed by the cuteness and details of the cottage, we were quick to get the fire going and use the Nespresso machine to enjoy with the complimentary biscuits. Although Jane was not present, she contacted us prior to our departure and ensured that our stay was still perfect. We had plans of exploring the area however in all honesty, we opted out of the plans to stay in the cottage and enjoy the winter views, making use of the kitchen facilities in cooking a rustic roast dinner next to the warmth of the fire. We were impressed with how far Jane had gone to make sure the cottage had everything we may need - We took oil, tea bags, sugar, oven trays etc just incase they weren't there but the cottage was well stocked and we didn't need any of it. We wanted privacy and we certainly had it, only seeing a chicken and three geese on our entire stay. We've spent the past week reminiscing and pining for the experience once again - we will certainly be trying to fit in another visit to Biggin Grange in the new year. Thank you Jane, the cottage excelled all our expectations x
What a lovely review! You are very kind and I am so pleased you enjoyed your stay at Cheese Press Cottage. It is really relaxing and I'm glad you made the most of chilling out! Do please come back and see us again when you need to breath some Derbyshire air! Jane

"Gorgeous, cosy perfect cottage in an idyllic location"
Cheese Press Cottage is a beautiful cosy cottage for 2 people. It is clean, tidy & contains everything you need for a relaxing break. We arrived on a wet Friday evening but as soon as we had the log burner going the cottage was so cosy we didn't want to venture out again! The kitchen is very well equipped with absolutely everything you may need including champagne flutes! Awaiting us was a tin containing delicious homemade biscuits which didn't last long. On the table there was a vase of fresh flowers & toiletries in the bathroom along with soft fluffy towels. It is these special extra touches that help to make the cottages at Biggin Grange so appealing. Jane & Richard Henry were very welcoming & informative but then leave you in peace to enjoy your stay but you know they are available if you need any information. I can't put into words how much we enjoyed our stay, it is now my happy place when I'm having a bad day. I have never felt so relaxed so quickly on a holiday before & we fell in love with the place so much we have already booked a return trip. I would definitely recommend you try out one of the cottages for yourself & you will see what I mean.
What a lovely review! Thank you so much. I am so glad you are all booked in for next year. It is such a sweet cottage and perfect for relaxing and enjoying the views over Biggin Dale. Look forward to seeing you in 2015! jane

"Cosy and characterful miniature cottage"
The Cheese Press was a delight to stay in. There were freshly baked cookies and a plentiful supply of fire wood available for us upon arrival. The cottage was surprisingly tiny but, this is in no way a negative, as it made our stay, aided by the log burner, feel warm and intimate.
It was a lovely base for a quiet stay in the peaks, with a couple of very nice pubs not too far away.
I'm pleased you had a nice couple of days and thanks for taking the time to write a review for the cottage.

"Absolutely stunning, one of my favourite places!"
This was our second stay at the Cheese Press Cottage and we didn't think it could get any better but it definitely did! We arrived slightly later than planned and were greeted with some delicious handmade Mary Berry shortcake and the welcome addition of a coffee maker. Everything you could need is thought of and provided in the well presented kitchen area so theres no need to bring everything but the kitchen sink! The living area is cosy and comfortable, with a good size television for when you can finally take your eyes of the fire in the wood burner! We love the cottage and it's packed with charm and character, it's like a home away from home (but nicer than my home!) and it just gets better when you venture out into the dales. There are a number of walks to choose from (guides are provided in the cottage). The views are so picturesque, it really is stunning. Even if you decide to just put your feet up at the cottage you can still get the wonderful view from the cottage itself as the patio area faces the open dales and is just gorgeous!
We really can't recommend this place enough, Jane does a marvellous job and really goes the extra mile to make it a fabulous experience, we only wish we could stay more often!
Its lovely when guests return to visit us and I am so pleased you had a nice few days. The cottages have much better views than our house and it is lovely to look over Biggin Dale. I am glad you noticed the improvements in the cottage - I do try and keep on top of things! Look forward to seeing you both again. Jane

"Perfect Hideaway Cottage"
This was our first time staying in the cheese press cottage. Jane the owner was very welcoming and had even made us some cake to enjoy during our stay. The cottage was idyllic and had the perfection location with wonderful views which made it even more special. The cottage was fully equipped with everything we needed and it was all the little touches that had been thought of that made a real difference such as tea bags and coffee, some logs for the fire, basics such as cling film and foil, cleaning products, bottled water and many bathroom
items. The property was very clean and had a great welcome folder with lots of information on the local area. It really is the perfect getaway self catered cottage and we will be booking in again for next year.
I'm so pleased you had a lovely time and it's great you are in the diary for next year. Thanks for taking the time to write a review and see you in 2015! Jane
