Home description
Seaview is situated in Bigbury on Sea, a beautiful coastal village renowned for its large expanse of excellent sandy beach, with a causeway formed at low tide leading to Burgh Island and the internationally famous Art Deco hotel of the same name. The house features stunning views of the beaches and the River Avon estuary which meets the sea in between Bigbury and Bantham beach, famous for great surfing.
The village has its own general store and post office, it is on the bus route and there is an 18 hole golf course nearby at Bigbury. The Pilchard Inn on the island is an excellent gastropub within easy walking access, apart from at high tide when access is via a unique 'sea tractor' which runs at half hour intervals. There is a good range of shopping and other amenities in the market town of Kingsbridge. Plymouth city centre is 18 miles away. Nearby there are attractive cliff top and coastal walks, as well as other beaches and coves, with sailing at nearby Salcombe and Dartmouth.
The main house, which has just been lovingly rebuilt, features five bedrooms, six bathrooms and a massive open plan ground floor with kitchen (with every conceivable mod con) dining area and lounge which looks out onto the beaches and estuary. The large 1/2 acre garden is ideal for kids to play in safely.
