Ferrycombe is a recently updated barn convertion with outstanding views of Bantham beach and the Avon estuary.

On entering the ground floor there are three bedrooms. One double ensuite, with a newly fitted shower room, and two twins with a newly fitted family bathroom with shower over the bath.

On the upper floor there is a beautiful open - plan living room with vaulted ceiling and exposed beams. The comfy leather sofas seat six. The dining area that will seat eight and fully fitted kitchen area and a utility room with second sink, washing machine and tumble dryer. All the windows face the stunning views of the beach and estuary.

Outside Ferrycombe has a fenced grass area with wooden seating and bbq for enjoying the last of the evening sun.

Bigbury-on-sea has a lot to offer the whole family. The village has a shop and post office and one one South Devon's largest beaches with a cafe and surf school. The beach stretches across to Burgh Island and The Pilchard Pub and the infamous Art Deco Hotel walkable at low tide or by long legged tractor at high tide.

Close by is Bigbury Golf Course always willing to welcome visitors.

The Devon region

Devon and especially the South Hams area is well known as an area of outstanding natural beauty.

There are National Trust Houses and gardens to visit, walks, sailing,surfing, fishing and messing about in boats.

Locally there is the market town of Kingsbridge with it's quirky little cinema and many shops and coffee stops.

A little further are Totnes with it's interesting Friday morning market and rail links to Reading/Guildford, Plymouth with the Aquarium and the famous Plymouth Hoe and Dartmouth with a great selection of shops, restaurants and boat trips up the estuary to the Sharpham wine making area,or across on the ferry to Kingswear and the steam railway. Don't forget the Food Festival in October.

Not to be forgotten is Salcombe the lovely sailing port, full of beautiful yachts in the summer months and well know for it's Regatta week in June.


Bigbury-on-Sea is one of the biggest blue flag beaches in the South Hams. The beach reaches across to Burgh Island at low tide and is reached by long legged tractor when the tide is up. The island is renowned for the famous Burgh Island Hotel a setting for Agatha Christie and Poirot murder mysteries and the 14th century Pilchard Inn, great fun walking across the sand to enjoy a curry on a Friday evening.

There is something for all ages. Many rockpools to be discoverd, castles to build and for the more adventurous there is kite-surfing, wind-surfing and board-surfing.

There is a surf school and the Venus Cafe is open 364 days of the year.

There are many good pubs and restaurants very close by serving excellent locally sourced food. The most well known being The Oyster Shack serving oysters grown in the estuary and fine local fish - a must!!

If you are planning a golf holiday your couldn't find a more welcoming club than Bigbury and the views as you go round are breathtaking.
