Home description
Webbery Barton Barn is quite simply one of the largest and finest barn conversions in the area. Originally a double threshing barn and round house this beautiful structure has been sympathetically converted to a very high standard using quality materials and now offers the luxurious refinements of a modern home combined with many original period features
The barn is southwest facing and overlooks its own private gardens and grounds and there are lovely views over open countryside and to the sea in the distance.
The property enjoys the benefits of both worlds as it is in a quiet rural hamlet yet only just two and three quarter miles from the port and market town of Bideford which offers an extensive range of shops, restaurants and pubs.
Internally there is an immediate ‘wow factor’ when you enter the grand receiving / dining hall with its lofty vaulted ceiling overlooked by a Juliet balcony, with inglenook fireplace and woodburning stove, a wonderful room for entertaining
A particular feature throughout the ground floor is the superb oak flooring with under floor heating. At the centre of the barn is a large hallway with impressive oak staircase leading to galleried landing above. There is a 34’0 drawing room with plentiful leather sofas, Widescreen TV, Freeview and DVD leading through to a games room with snooker/pool table and table football, these two rooms are linked externally by a cloistered sun loggia. The spacious kitchen / breakfast room is ideal for informal entertaining and centres around a traditional range recessed beneath a sandstone archway. Folding glazed doors provide plenty of light as well as access to the cobbled courtyard ideal for breakfasting in the summer
Immediately in front of the barn is the Southwest Facing Open Cloistered Sun Loggia with glazed roof. Immediately adjacent to this is an Extensive Sun Terrace ideal for sitting loungers or summer dining. The formal garden is arranged in front of the barn where there are sweeping lawns, one of which has a central circular bed stocked with young specimen trees and shrubs.
Upstairs there are five light and airy bedrooms, 4 en suite, (2 large family rooms with double bed and 2 singles both en suite and three spacious twin rooms, 2 en suite). Furnished to a luxurious standard with fresh white bed linen and towels. There is also a family bathroom with roll top bath and additional shower. On the ground floor there is a further twin bedroom. Outside you will find a patio and barbecue area with tables, chairs and umbrella where you can relax and watch the sun go down.

The West Country / Devon region
A holiday in North Devon will not disappoint. It has some of the most stunning coastlines and beaches in Britain and boasts rolling hills a plenty.
North Devon's diversity is reflected in the towns and villages that make up this unique area.
The area caters for every type of visitor, whether you prefer sleepy hamlets hidden amongst the rolling hills, traditional market towns or vibrant coastal resorts offering a wide range of amenities.
Bideford / Webbery area
WEARE GIFFARD - A classic street village on the eastern bank of the River Torridge. It has a long and fascinating history and a rich present and glowing future. Tarka Otter country at its best. 20 mins walk / 30 mins to pub.
CLOVELLY - Step back in time at the picturesque 14th Century harbour. The beach is a pebbled beach set in the middle of the peaceful harbour. 30 Mins Drive
INSTOW - Pretty estuary village which lies on the banks of the River Torridge. Its wonderful scenic views make it a favourite haunt for artists whilst fishermen enjoy catching bass! It is also a place for watersports and sailing enthusiasts. 15 Mins Drive
APPLEDORE - Where the River Torridge & River Taw meet the Atlantic. The village is full of history, with watch towers, look-outs, a smugglers tunnel, fishermen's cottages, captains' houses and a quay overlooking the meeting point of the two rivers. Away from the quay the narrow streets, hidden lanes and cobbled courtyards preserve the intriguing history and transport the imagination back through the centuries. 15 Mins Drive
WESTWARD HO - On a narrow strip of land beneath the wooded hillside and golden sands of Bideford Bay, lies this wonderful little seaside resort that has been a popular family holiday destination since Victorian times. The village is fronted by over two miles of golden sand and is protected by the famous pebble ridge and long promenade. 15 Mins Drive
BARNSTAPLE - Barnstaple is the commercial centre of the region, combining sophisticated shopping with the bustling atmosphere of markets and speciality shops. The modern Green Lanes Shopping Centre compliments the traditional Pannier and Craft Markets held since 1855 in the Pannier Market Hall. Around every corner there are pretty little alleys and courtyards, as well as the unusual Butchers Row, a line of open fronted shops selling speciality foods from meat and fish to laver and traditional clotted cream. 20MIns Drive
