Situated in a prime position, close to all the facilities (but far enough away to be peaceful), on the edge of the beautiful wooded hillside of the award winning, Park Resorts, Bideford Bay Holiday Park,.

Driftwood is a cosy, coastal chalet, with a bright, modern, beach themed decor with driftwood wall hangings, adding to the 'seaside holiday' atmosphere. Both the lounge and double bedroom boast stunning sea views.

The park has many facilities including a shop, launderette, restaurant and take away, indoor and outdoor heated swimming pools, (outdoor pool open from end May - beg' September), organised activities and entertainment and children's clubs. There's also a children's soft play area, adventure playground, all weather sports court and crazy golf. There's plenty to entertain the kids, which makes it an ideal destination for families. If the children are happy, then mum and dad are happy! The full use of all the facilities IS INCLUDED IN THE QUOTED PRICE,( for which, you will find, many do charge extra!). There really is something for everyone, making it a perfect holiday getaway for couples too.

For the more energetic, the coast path which leads from the park can be taken to the quaint fishing village of Clovelly, with it's famous cobbled street, in one direction, or Westward Ho! with it's 2mile stretch of sandy beach, in the other.

Just a short distance away is a shop and Post Office at Bucks Cross.

'Driftwood' is ideal for up to 4 people, having one double and one twin bedroom. The lounge, that looks out over the bay, has a dining area and seating for 4, and is open plan to the kitchen. A door from the lounge gives access to the balcony where there is a Bistro table and chairs from where the views across the bay to Saunton Sands, Lundy and on a really clear day, the coast of Wales, can be enjoyed.

The chalet is well equipped with electric oven and ceramic hob, microwave, fridge with small freezer compartment, kettle, toaster, coffee machine, flat screen TV with Freeview/DVD/CD player, IPod Dock, hairdryer, iron, books, CDs, DVDs, and games. Staple food items are also supplied. Wifi is accessed in communal areas of the Park. Should you need them for those unpredictable, sometimes chilly summer nights, there are portable electric heaters for every room, and spare duvets. All the comforts of home!

Nearby attractions include the picturesque village of Clovelly, 3 miles, the surfing beach of Westward Ho!, 8miles. The Eden Project in Cornwall is only 1 1/2 hrs away and is a unique experience well worth a visit. Family attractions such as The Milky Way Adventure Park is a 4 min drive and The Big Sheep, (great entertainment for all the family), is 10mins.

*Due to the positioning of the Park on a hillside, it would not be suitable for anyone with restricted mobility.

*REGRET - NO PETS - NO SMOKING

* Highchair and travel cot available on request, but please note that the travel cot can only be put in the lounge. However, the single beds are only 18 inches above a carpeted floor, and a foam bed guard can also be supplied, if requested, which acts as a bumper to stop toddlers falling out of bed.

The West Country region

The disused railway line, (The Tarka Trail), is a great way to safely walk or cycle the many miles of it, to be able to really explore the beauty of this gorgeous part of Devon.

The area has many breathtaking sandy beaches to enjoy such as Westward Ho!, Saunton, Croyde, Woolacombe and Instow. For those who like the rural beauty, Exmoor is less than an hour away.

Some of the best attractions are also within an hours drive of the Park, and these include, Watermouth castle 51 mins, Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park 48 mins, RHS Garden Rosemoor 29 mins, Marwood Hill Gardens 38 mins, Tunnel Beaches 50 mins, The Milky Way Adventure Park 4 mins, The Big Sheep, ( recently voted one of the best attractions in the South West), 10 mins. For those who enjoy a bit of retail therapy, Atlantic Village shopping outlet with a covered mall is just 11 mins away.

Information regarding the many other attractions around the region can be found in 'Driftwood' chalet, or can be picked up in the Park's reception.

Bideford

Bideford Bay Holiday Park is set on an attractive wooded hillside with magnificent coastal views and the nearest beach of Bucks Mills can be reached by either taking a short (steep), but interesting walk through the beautiful woods on the edge of the park, (about 3/4km approx), or can be approached by car. It is a rocky beach with rock pools but with expanses of sand at low tide.

The Eden Project in Cornwall, about 1 1/2 hours away is a great day out and Lundy Island just off the coast, is well worth the boat trip from Bideford Quay, to experience the peace and tranquility there.

Bideford is a busy port/market town with an attractive quayside and some interesting shops, several bars and restaurants. At the end of the quay is a lovely park with a well equipped children's play area. In season the ice cream van of the locally famous Hocking's ice cream, can be found parked at the park's entrance. No holiday is complete until you've tried it!
