There is a private garden to the side of the coach house where there is seating and barbeque area. A gas barbeque is availabe for the guests use. Picnics can be enjoyed along the riverbank. Adults & children are welcome to help with feeding our pigs, ducks and chickens. In the summer months there is a vegetable garden where guests can pick some added extras for dinner (supervised) and we have a help yourself policy to our delicious free range eggs.
The central heating is only available to guests throughout October to March. In the Summer months an electric oil filled radiator is available in the unlikely event that heating is required. The property would not be suitable for people with walking difficulties. There are many water features including large fish tank, stream, bridge and of course lake so those with very small children may not deem the property suitable. Supervised children will enjoy the property immensely. There is no fishing available at the property.
The West Country region
A holiday in North Devon will not disappoint. It has some of the most stunning coastlines and beaches in Britain and boasts rolling hills a plenty. North Devon's diversity is reflected in the towns and villages that make up this unique area. The area caters for every type of visitor, whether you prefer sleepy hamlets hidden amongst the rolling hills, traditional market towns or vibrant coastal resorts offering a wide range of amenities.
WEARE GIFFARD - A classic street village on the eastern bank of the River Torridge. It has a long and fascinating history and a rich present and glowing future. Tarka Otter country at its best. 20 mins walk / 30 mins to pub.
CLOVELLY - Step back in time at the picturesque 14th Century harbour. The beach is a pebbled beach set in the middle of the peaceful harbour. 30 Mins Drive
INSTOW - Pretty estuary village which lies on the banks of the River Torridge. Its wonderful scenic views make it a favourite haunt for artists whilst fishermen enjoy catching bass! It is also a place for watersports and sailing enthusiasts. 15 Mins Drive
APPLEDORE - Where the River Torridge & River Taw meet the Atlantic. The village is full of history, with watch towers, look-outs, a smugglers tunnel, fishermen's cottages, captains' houses and a quay overlooking the meeting point of the two rivers. Away from the quay the narrow streets, hidden lanes and cobbled courtyards preserve the intriguing history and transport the imagination back through the centuries. 15 Mins Drive
WESTWARD HO - On a narrow strip of land beneath the wooded hillside and golden sands of Bideford Bay, lies this wonderful little seaside resort that has been a popular family holiday destination since Victorian times.
The village is fronted by over two miles of golden sand and is protected by the famous pebble ridge and long promenade. 15 Mins Drive
BARNSTAPLE - Barnstaple is the commercial centre of the region, combining sophisticated shopping with the bustling atmosphere of markets and speciality shops. The modern Green Lanes Shopping Centre compliments the traditional Pannier and Craft Markets held since 1855 in the Pannier Market Hall. Around every corner there are pretty little alleys and courtyards, as well as the unusual Butchers Row, a line of open fronted shops selling speciality foods from meat and fish to laver and traditional clotted cream. 25 MIns Drive

"Unique property in beautiful location ideal for exploring North Devon with friendly hosts"
After seeing the coach house on a holiday lettings website we contacted the owners Ruth and Alistair to ask a few additional questions. From the moment we made contact we could tell the hosts were going to do everything to help us have a great time. We were not disappointed! The coach house was in a quiet unspoilt location with no passing traffic and was comfortable and well equipped - the ideal location for exploring North Devon. Each day before we went out and when we came back our kids would dash up the road to see the pigs and then go and sit by the old trout farm. We also had access to 5 bikes and lots of beach stuff (wind break, bucket and spade, bats balls etc) which we made good use of. It was these little "extras" that drew us to this letting and helped make this a wonderful holiday. Our hosts Ali and Ruth were very friendly and helpful when we needed them.
