B&B | 2 bedrooms | sleeps 4
Green House has one double guest room with an en-suite shower room and a VW Campervan tent for children to sleep in on airbeds. Maximum occupancy is 2 adults and 3 children. Children under 16 are charged at £15 per child per night. It is an 1850's stone built detached property on a small traffic-free lane, in a quiet residential area close to the Tarka Trail and river and only 7 minutes walk from the town centre and all its amenities. At Green House we offer an exclusively vegetarian breakfast menu. Our breakfasts satisfy all our hungry guests, vegetarian and non-vegetarian alike. We enjoy preparing special breakfasts to accommodate dietary needs and preferences. Our menu features home-made bread and pancakes, locally made jams and preserves, free-range eggs, soy products, a variety of teas, organic coffee and always locally sourced food wherever possible. If you're an occasional vege, what the press have coined a 'flexitarian', this is a great way of trying out some new breakfasts.
We are friendly and welcoming, so you can relax but also have your own independence during your stay with us. You can holiday at your own pace and come and go as you please. Our guests enjoy free wireless broadband during their stay. We are a non-smoking, vegetarian (pescetarian) household and implement green practices.
There's off road parking for cars and a secure covered passage for bicycles. An excellent bus service is less than 5 minutes away.
This is a great place to use as a base for hiking; we're on the Tarka Trail and minutes from the South West Coast Path which cuts through Bideford over it's 13th century longbridge, visible from your guest room window.

About this location
The Devon region
Green House vegetarian bed and breakfast is situated in the market town and historic port of Bideford in North Devon, in the South West of Great Britain. Bideford is set on the tidal river Torridge and is 3 miles away from Westward Ho! beach.
Green House is an 1850's stone built detached property in a quiet, residential area. The house is in a small traffic-free lane (which is Torridge Street!) Only pedestrians go past the house and the lane is used by locals on their way to and from town. There is a guest parking space outside the house. We are an easy and enjoyable 5 minute walk from the town centre and all its amenities.
Green House is close to the river Torridge and the guest room has a view of the river. We are virtually on the Tarka Trail, a wonderful traffic-free cycle and walking trail that runs for miles in both directions. Cycling Devon's Coast to Coast is very popular and we provide a safe and secure place for bicycles. Hiking is possible from the front door, with trails leading to the coast and inland. There are numerous day-hikes that can be done using public transport from the town centre. Westward Ho! and Instow beach are our local beaches and are both only 3 miles away – a short scenic bus ride or a healthy one hour hike.
We are happy to make suggestions for places to visit, see, eat vegetarian or vegan food, devour the best Devon cream tea, have dinner or enjoy a local ale in a traditional English pub.

So pleased you and your family enjoyed your stay with us, both in the house and in the Camper Van tent! Yes the tent is pretty groovy.
It was a pleasure to accommodate you - glad we could help with some suggestions for places to visit and local eateries that could satisfy both veggy and vegan appetites.
Hope you enjoyed the rest of your trip.

"Charming place with lovely hosts"
The place is really cute and guests get their own bathroom. It's tiny (hey I'm used to American size), but it has everything you need. The hosts Dave and Sadie gave us some great restaurant … More
So glad you enjoyed your stay with us. It was great to be able to impart our local arts scene knowledge as there is always plenty of that stuff happening here and we are a big part of that scene ourselves, as you now know!
Glad you also enjoyed our restaurant recommendations.

"Comfortable and friendly visit!"
We were recommended the Green House by friends living in Bideford who know Dave and Sadie personally.
We had an enjoyable visit in Dec 2012 and were made very welcome.
Both being vegetarians we were excited to find a place to stay that shares our same ideas and the choice of breakfast was fanstastic!
Thanks for taking the time to write a review, our first!
