Our newly available self-catering holiday accommodation for 2 is perfect for a couple seeking a peaceful country retreat at any time of the year. The Coach House at Greenacres enjoys an enviable quiet location in delightful Cotswold countryside just half a mile from the historic and picturesque village of Bibury. Visitors are attracted all year round to this unique and unspoilt village, which is full of Cotswold charm and described by William Morris as “the most beautiful in England”.

The Coach House is situated within the beautiful garden at Greenacres. Constructed in 2009, the property benefits from all the advantages of modern eco friendly living in a contemporary setting but with traditional features. There is exceptionally light, spacious (80sq m) and airy open plan accommodation largely on the first floor with vaulted ceilings and a lovely large picture window and cosy wood burning stove in the lounge. The double French doors in the large and spacious bedroom open fully to reveal a glass Juliet balcony and peaceful views across the garden and fields beyond.

Everything has been provided to help guests relax and enjoy a very comfortable homely and tranquil stay. The kitchen is fully equipped with all modern conveniences and everything necessary for easy cooking and dining. The tastefully furnished lounge and dining area has everything to enhance comfort and enjoyment. The bedroom is also a lovely space throughout the day with chairs, coffee table and TV.

The Cotswolds region

Guests staying at the Coach House are within easy reach of not only beautiful and historic Bibury, but also Cotswold gems like Stow on the Wold, Bourton on the Water, Burford, the Slaughters, Tetbury and Cirencester. A little further but easily accessible are Oxford, Bath and Cheltenham. Noteworthy in all these places are the wonderful Churches built from the wealth of the wool trade, which depended on the lovely Cotswold Lion sheep that roamed the wolds in days gone by. Lovers of antiques can be spoilt for choice in Burford, Stow and Tetbury.

The Cotswolds can cater for every interest. There is a wealth of history, for instance Chedworth Roman Villa only a few minutes away and the Corinium Museum in Cirencester. The area is renowned for gastronomic delights with Farmers Markets and independent food outlets as well as quality dining in charming historic Inns and Hotels. National Trust properties (Snowshill Manor, Buscot Park, Chastleton House) and many more are well worth visiting. For garden lovers there are many wonderful gardens ( Barnsley House, Hidcote, Kiftsgate, Rococo and Colesborne Park, the famous snowdrop garden.) The National Arboretum at Tetbury as well as Batsford Arboretum at Moreton in Marsh offers exceptional experiences particularly in the Autumn with vibrant seasonal colours.

The Cotswold Water Park offers a variety of sporting activities and Cheltenham is famous for the Racecourse. Other sporting events include the horse trials at Badminton and Gatcombe. The International Air Tattoo held annually in July at Fairford is a must for plane enthusiasts.

The Cotswold Farm Park (Adam's Farm on TV) and the Burford Wildlife Park as well as Birdland at Bourton on the Water all provide wonderful days out.

For walkers there are many lovely circular country walks accessed directly from the Coach House taking guests through the lovely villages, along the river and up on the downs where there are wonderful views of the Cotswold countryside.

Making a start on the Cotswold Way, which starts at historic and beautiful Chipping Campden, taking the walker along the escarpment and through idyllic honey coloured Cotswold villages like Stanway and Broadway to Winchcombe and beyond, is easily achievable. A regular bus service helps guests explore and walk further afield.

At whatever time of the year or whatever the weather, the Cotswolds has something interesting, relaxing or stimulating to offer and the Coach House at Greenacres is ideally situated and equipped to enable guests to thoroughly enjoy this wonderful area of outstanding natural beauty.
