This new villa is a short 15 minute walk from the centre of Bedarieux in the Orb River Valley and enjoys spacious accommodation on two floors. There are some excellent restaurants where you can enjoy outside or inside dining and lots of places to visit as well as relax and enjoy the villa Chant.
The villa has a large lounge dining room on the ground floor with two sets of French doors giving access to the terrace and swimming pool and overlooking the garden with views to the hills beyond. It has a sunny south facing aspect and all terrace furniture is provided including beds and chairs for outside dining.
There are three double bedrooms, an en suite and a family bathroom, which makes a perfect holiday home.

The Languedoc-Roussillon / Herault region
Located a short walk from the town centre of Bedarieux with its shops, restaurants and bars as well as weekly market and set in the Orb River Valley with the rolling hills surrounding the villa. The region has its beaches, mountains, caves, rivers and lakes, the Canal du Midi and miles of Mediterranean coastline all within a short drive.
The area is steeped in history with many abbeys, chateaux and cathedrals to visit and discover as well as the famous towns of Beziers, Montpellier, Carcassonne and Nimes. Bedarieux is situated on the edge of the beautiful Languedoc National Park and on the banks of the river Orb. A 10 minute drive gives access to the golf course and spa town of Lamalou-Les-Bains.
The Olive Mill at Clerment L'Herault is 20 minutes drive and the Knights Templar village of St Guilhelm le Dessert about 35 minutes drive. There is bike hire, canoeing, fishing, and of course opportunities for wine-tasting with the Languedoc region being the largest wine producing area in France. There are also plenty of local shopping opportunities and markets to explore at you leisure. The Spanish border and the Pyrenees lie just 90 minutes from the house and Barcelona can be reached in 2 ½ hours for a fantastic day trip or long weekend. There are also good train connections to Beziers, Millau and bus services if needed to Beziers and Montpellier.
Beziers area
Bedarieux is an old mining and farming town and has kept its original character whilst of course now offering all modern facilities, large supermarkets, etc.
There are many events year round and Beziers has probably the largest open air street festival in the Languedoc in Mid August called the Feria and based on the Spanish culture of Flamenco dancing and bull fighting, open air horse shows, street parades for the children and more street bars and open air dancing than you will have energy for in the 5 days it takes place.
Carcassone is within an hour and a half and the old Roman aqueduct at the Pont du Gard about 2 hours drive.

Fly to Beziers Vias airport from London Luton and Bristol airports, and also Dusseldorf in Germany from July 2009. UK and International airports fly also to Montpellierto (65mins by car ) from London Stanstead, Bristol, Frankfurt, Brussels, Dublin, London Gatwick and Amsterdam, Carcassone(1 hr by car) London Stanstead, Edinburgh, East Midlands, Liverpool, Dublin, Cork, Shannon and Brussels Perpignan (1hr by car), London Stanstead, Bristol, Birmingham, Brussels, Southamption, Manchester Nimes (1hr20 mins by car) from London Luton, Liverpool or Brussels or Girona in Spain (2 hrs drive) from Birmingham, Bournemouth, Bristol, Doncaster, Dublin, Durham, East Midlands, Leeds, Liverpool, London Luton, Stanstead and Gatwick, Manchester, Newcastle and Shannon and Toulouse (2hrs 30mins) which has many international destinations -Cheap flights available by most known carriers, Ryanair, Flybe, BMI Baby, etc as well as British Airways, Air France -Car hire available at all airports - try the cheap airlines link car hire their usually competitive. Also local main car dealers these days have good hire car rates although not always convenient for airports.

Further details indoors: This is a brand new property and new to the rental market in Spring 2008. Ideally located for exploring both Mediterranean areas of Languedoc and the Languedoc National Park.
There is a fully fitted kitchen breakfast room also with access to the rear terrace. A downstairs cloakroom and upstairs three double bedrooms, two of which have a balcony overlooking the pool and garden. There is an en suite to one twin bedroom and a family bathroom.
Further details outdoors: All garden furniture is provided including barbecue. sun loungers and lay back garden chairs for sun bathing on the large terrace area around the pool, as well as table and chairs for outside dining.
There are all amenities within walking distance including restaurants, shops and bars, the weekly Monday market as well as several places of interest to visit nearby (Le Pont du Diable or Devils Bridge, the Medieval village of Boussagues, the golf course and spa town at Lamalou and of course the Mediterranean beaches just 40 minutes drive away.
There is a garage and off road parking for our guests.

Reservations in peak season are Saturday to Saturday. No smoking is allowed or pets. Cots and highchair can be provided at a supplmentary charge. The garden is completely fenced.

As well as rental there is refundable security deposit is required on all reservations as well as return of rental contract. Minimum reservation is for one week

Guestbook for Villa Chant
We had a great time in the Villa which is ideally placed and has great views from the pool and terrace - nice quiet relaxing area with nice walks along the path to the town and the market. The Forge is also a real restaurant treat - Mr and Mrs Clements and family
Sadly once back the normal working grind returns, however we are very relaxed and happy having had such a wonderful 3 week break in France and thoroughly enjoyed our time in Bedarieux - Julie Banks and family
