My lovely spacious, fully equipped holiday home is just 1 mile outside the historical town of Beziers, on the banks of the river Orb and Canal du Midi with several lovely beaches nearby. This beautiful diverse region of Languedoc, which boasts over 300 sunny days a year, has something for everyone. It has excellent transport with it's own airport in Beziers (we are just 15 minutes away) Because of the comfort and convenience and being so ideally centrally located my apartment makes a perfect property for longer lets and property hunting! and represents excellent value.
The area outside Beziers is surrounded by vineyards with mountains, lakes, gorgeous villages, canal du midi, gorges, the amazing Carcasonne Citadel plus more all within the hour, and nearby fantastic beaches, cafe boulevards, historical cathedral .. truly something for everyone! A fantastic city and beach destination.
For the budget conscious (or how to have a very reasonably priced holiday) .......
(just a few personal tips that may be useful)
* try and book cheaper mid week flights, i do allow mid week arrival to allow for this flexibility, please ask!
Outside july/aug i generally pay £40-50return! Keep your eye out for promotions which come up all the time, either subscribe or check the website. Do on line check in and just take a well packed hand luggage bag if you can, i have a washing machine to freshen everything, i also offer towel hire, at cost, to help (or buy a couple in the supermarket!) You will see how you can reduce the cost of your flights!
* do you need a car? there are excellent public transport links, buses & trains from beziers to almost everywhere, if you prefer a car, pre book before you leave and take the insurance to reduce your excess
* there are lots of FREE things to do and see in the area, it is not necessary to pay for lots of entertainment, i have left maps/tourist books and guides to borrow and tourist information all for your convenience
* with plenty of lovely fresh markets in and around Beziers why not utilise my very well equipped kitchen and eat 'al fresco'
* with the gorgeous weather offering more than 300 days of sunshine a year it is quite possible to have a very reasonably priced holiday even in our price sensitive times, especially as i haven't increased my sterling set rental rates for 9 years and linen/changeover fees are also charged at cost. Also for stays of one week plus, any extra days are charged pro rata and not inflated for not staying the whole week (july/aug is at discretion)

The Apartment is just one of six, placed amongst villas in a nice residential area, very clean and modern. It offers plenty of comfort and convenience. We are just under a mile from the town centre, it can be walked (15/20 mins) or you can hop on the bus (over the road) for 1 euro 5 cents (and come back on the same ticket if within the hour, or connect onto another bus to another destination) The apartment has two lovely light double bedrooms with plenty of storage, a bathroom with full bath and shower over and a separate WC. The light and airy lounge/diner is open plan and leads onto a large sunny balcony via french doors. The kitchen is open plan, fully fitted and well equipped with a full electric cooker, hob & extractor plus fridge, microwave and washing machine. Iron, ironing board and hairdryer are all supplied. Everything is at the apartment that you could possibly require, and it is very clean and modern. For your convenience we have english tv. I have modern electric heating in every room, cosy if required in the middle of winter. We have our own private small garden/driveway behind attractive iron gates, quite unique for an apartment in the Beziers region. There is outside furniture both in the garden and on the balcony to make the most of the outside space. The river Orb is only a 10 minute walk from the apartment with its lovely old water mill. The property is accessed via the back, a small private cul de sac of a few villas, so there are no stairs. In a residential area surrounded by villas, yet near all the conveniences of a large town,.
We have our own private small garden/driveway behind attractive iron gates, quite unique for an apartment in the Beziers region. Garden furniture both in the small garden and in front on the terrace/balcony.
A lovely comfortable apartment suitable for a longer term let where every convenience is offered including television offering english channels (not guaranteed should weather disrupt) washing machine and a fully equipped kitchen, not just for a holiday let, it is truly a home from home with many testaments to the comfort offered.

Further details
A deposit of 25% of the rental is required with the balance being paid 8 weeks prior to commencement.
There is £100 refundable security deposit to be paid with the balance. The property is to be left perfectly clean upon your departure (everything is supplied for your convenience) I do not impose a compulsory cleaning fee but you can choose to pay for an end of stay clean @ £45. This must be arranged at time of booking. If left unclean (not ready for immediate occupation by incoming guests) a cleaning fee will be deducted from your security deposit.

£35 for 1-2 people (one room),
£70* for 3-4 people (2 bedrooms) * slight increase this year 2012, although rental rate remains unchanged
for convenience, towels can be provided for a small extra charge and 'end of stay' cleaning can be arranged at an extra cost please enquire and arrange this at time of booking, this is entirely optional and at cost
Many complimentary items have also been included, for your convenience, but cannot be guaranteed (I stock up when I'm there) washing powder, liquid, loo rolls, etc. (all cleaning materials supplied for your convenience)
A tea towel, cleaning cloth & bath mat are supplied complimentary for your convenience

The Languedoc-Roussillon / Herault region


There is so much to do, and places to see, the Tarn Gorges, the famous 'Canal du Midi' and the '9 locks' just 1 mile away, Carcasonne’s medieval citadel just 30 mins, plus the Haute Languedoc National Park with it’s mountain biking, walking, horse riding, and thermal spas, lakes offering windsurfing (all within the hour) ... the list is endless! Nearer home there are several lovely Mediterranean beaches with golden sand, about 5 miles away (our favourites being Serignan and Portiragnes) theres a choice of smaller family beaches and larger resort beaches like Valras Plage, or a stretch of 6 miles (Sete) Miles of vineyards and a beautiful golf course just outside Beziers.
The weather is warm - hot most of the year, and it's sunny nearly all year-round. And being the world's largest wine-producing area means that Languedoc wine is cheap and extremely cheerful. Lovely time to visit April/May/June, quiter, cheap flights warm weather, July/Aug school holidays, hot, September/October, quiter, lovely time, November to March, warm - cool days, may require a little heating to take the chill off in the evenings with many sunny days, but can be changeable and turn cool as this is winter although a great time to visit to sight see without the crowds.
Beziers is centrally situated in Languedoc and it's ideal for house hunting in the region! Beziers ihas it's own airport and 3 further airports within the hour being served by low budget airlines and excellent transport links, the apartment is very convenient and comfortable and offers everything you need!
A brand new attractive shopping complex called 'Polygone'' has recently opened in town, offering entertainment, shopping and dining, themed with trees and a river running through and a scaled down feature of the 9 locks Also a lovely supermarket (open to 9pm daily and to 12 mid day Sunday) with parking at the complex. A free courtesy bus runs every 10 minutes from town or approx 15 min walk.
The Beziers area
Béziers is also perfectly situated for trips into the Haut Languedoc, a rugged and untamed mountainous region of picturesque stone villages and cascading mountain streams.
The imposing 12th century St Nazaire cathedral overlooks the town has some stunning views, it’s well worth a visit. The Black mountains are within an hours drive and Spain just a little further. In town you will find great restaurants, wonderful old alleys, flower market (fri), parks, lovely shops, Olympic swimming pool (under construction being replaced by a multi million pound complex due to open spring 2012) and even a bull arena, (personally i would only attend concerts and shows and leave the bull fighting!) .. plus more.
There are several markets in Beziers and surrounding villages and lots of festivals throughout the year. There is an excellent tourist office in town where all the latest information can be obtained. I also have lots of information/maps/books at the apartment for your use.

Ryan Air now fly direct to Beziers a very small low key airport. We are just 15 mins from the airport!! Even more convenient, you can take the bus which collects the flight straight to the town bus station and pick up a bus which takes you right to our apartment. Although there are excellent transport links from Beziers including a main line station (TGV) and a bus station covering the Herault region, having a car offers lots of convenience, pre book it before leaving the uk as its much cheaper and take the insurance excess for peace of mind, i have an annual policy which works out much cheaper if you hire more than 2 x a year. Driving down you can utilise the free toll road A75 which pretty much takes you past Paris right down to Beziers. For your convenience there is private parking on my drive, a rarity for a town/city apartment.
(my dates are flexible to make use of the budget airline schedules, outside july/aug you can start your rental anyday)
UPDATE: FLYBE flying Southampton direct to Beziers from May 27th until September 23rd 2011 (not yet sure of the 2012 status)
also flights start from Manchester in 2012 direct to Beziers,
Budget airlines also fly to Carcasonne, Montpellier and Perpignan, all around 1 hours drive from airport to the apartment.

apartment was extremely spacious and clean with all the conveniences that one could need e.g. video, dvd, washer & sky tv. There was a very extensive information packs in the apartment inc. train & bus times for all the local areas. In walking distance to the town, we didn't bother with acar when there because buses were very cheap (some were free) & very regular - fares between 30 - 50 cents. Appartment had a good array of books, dvds &games if you want to spend a quite evening in. The owner of appartment (kay) was 1st class, extremely helpful & very thorough, if like us you want to use local transport she will email with further info & times/routes. nothing was too much trouble, she goes out of her way to ensure you have the best possible vacation. Ideally located for exploring all of the Herault region & more & I would think it would be a very good base if househunting, also good roads to get onto the main road network. also excellent if wanting to practice your french speaking skills because it is not a tourist area but real france, therefore if you talk french they answer back in french, where in other areas I've found that they answer back in English if they realise your on hols. Kithchen facilities very good if you want to self cater, we found eating out prices in town very high so did a bit of both, especially with having children with us. |

Well maintained 2 bedroom flat with all amenities. Shaded garden at back and balcony at front. Bus stop on the road very near the flat, ideal for getting to the the bus station in the centre of Beziers where you can connect to various other places. The owner was really helpful and supplied loads of information such as places of interest and directions and maps showing route from the airport to the flat. My sister and I had a lovely holiday and would definitely recommend this property. |

Location is great, a lovely 15 minute walk from the centre of Beziers in a quiet peaceful area and just a short drive by car from connections to all the towns and coastal resorts in the area. Super bakers within easy reach on foot. Private enclosed parking provided. Super facilities in this spacious house.Home from home service provide by the owner Kay who really wants you to have a memorable stay. Looking forward to our return. |

The house was bright and clean with all the amenities you would ever need. Bus stop just outside front door into Beziers was very easy to use and a cheap way to get around. All services are therefore close by. Good resources were also available at the house including maps and general regional information. Owner was very helpful in organising the accommodation and checking to make sure everything was OK once there. Would use again and recommend

Great, well arranged apartment wth everything you could possible need, including washing machine, iron and hairdryer etc... with a view from the balcony up to the old town of Beziers. Bakery and 'corner' shop 5 minutes walk away and Beziers town centre only 10 minutes walk.
Kay, the apartment owner is very friendly and helpful, her welcome pack contains detailed information for the apartment and local tourist sights. We had a fantastic time and would definitely use again.

.... despite a huge rise in running costs!! To keep my rental rates as reasonable as possible, a winter supplement of £35 for the whole apartment per week is charged october to march. All electricity/water/heating is unmetred and unlimited.
Superb value for up to 4 people in my lovely comfortable apartment offering every convenience and now with the added benefit of flying directly into Beziers, (15 mins) with a connecting bus taking you to the town bus garage where a bus runs to my front door! (10 mins) it is possible to manage without a car, unlike many other properties/locations. Obviously a car will afford greater convenience. Great for an autumn/spring break as there are so many lovely places to visit ..
