About the home

Villa 'Le Havre de Vert' is a spacious villa, in a residential area. It benefits from its own private pool, with shallow end perfect for the children (9 x 4.5 meters and 1 to 1.5 meters in depth with a stepped entrance at the shallow end). There are four double bedrooms and two bath/shower rooms. One of the bedrooms with the main bathroom is on the ground floor and has its own terrace area. The garden has Mediterranean palms, shrubs and olive trees. There is a large terrace area with barbecue and separate pizza oven.

From the living room double French doors open out onto the large terrace, partially covered, with views over the pool and garden, furnished with two sets of table and chairs to enable you to dine al fresco, as well as easy access to the summer kitchen area.

One of the three upstairs double bedrooms has has an additional bed settee, and can sleep three people. The other two double bedrooms, each with double bed, are complemented by a shower room with WC upstairs. The main bathroom and a separate WC are downstairs next to the main double bedroom, which has its own French doors to the outside terrace area.

The lounge dining room has a two settees along with a TV with terrestial and UK satellite channels and dining table with chairs for 8 people. Their is a fully fitted kitchen breakfast room, and a rear laundry room, with an internal door through to the garage. The conservatory off one side of the lounge, has 2 x 2 seater bed settees along with a second TV but for DVD's only.

There is a large garage with parking for two cars inside with access via electric doors and electric garden gates.

Located in a no through road, there are also facilities locally for younger children with a small childrens playground some 200 meters away, a summer youth club for older children and young teenagers, as well as lots of sports facilities and the beaches.

The village centre is just a stroll away with all shops, bars and restaurants. The Mediterranean beaches are long and sandy, the nearest being in Valras and Vendres Plage, with others also being close by such as Serignan and Portiragnes Plage. Early morning views from the beach give spectacular views of the Pyrenees mountains to the south west.

Beziers town is just a few minutes drive, as is the Canal du Midi. The town has year round festivals including the main Feria in Mid August which is a five day event, coverning Occitan and Spanish culture with parades for the children, flamenco dancing, horse shows, live music all free! There are several other events that take place year round in Beziers including a medieval pageant and Occitan festivals, with local villages as well as free summer evening concerts on the beach in Valras Plage. Festivals take place from Mid February with the mimosa festival through to November with chestnut festivals.

The villa has an entrance hall off which double doors enters into the lounge, with double doors out to the garden terrace and also double doors to the conservatory area. There is a fitted kitchen breakfast room off the hall, a rear pantry/laundry room, a double bedroom and a separate bathroom with a separate WC.

Upstairs there are 3 bedrooms, two double bedrooms upstairs with double beds and a further very large double bedroom with a double bed and additional single bed settee with a separate shower room with W.C.

The property has a garage for two cars as well as parking space behind a high electric gated entrance. There are two terraces, one which is partially covered, the other being open with the barbecue and pizza oven, with a further terraced area of the ground floor bedroom.

The swimming pool has a stepped entrance. There is a children's playground just 400 meters away including swings.

There is a large terrace to the garden side overlooking the pool and round the back of the house, children's swings area, Children should be supervised by parents when using the pool and swings. The swimming pool has a pool alarm and is ideally placed to make the most of the daily sunshine & has its own outside shower. There is a large barbecue and pizza oven area with overhead trellis and separate area for dining which overlooks the pool and garden, as well as sun loungers and lay back chairs for sun bathing. The pool has steps for entering not a ladder. The garden has olive trees and Mediterranean palms and shrubs. There is a separate childrens play ground within a few hundred meters with swings.

The villa is available on a Saturday to Saturday basis in peak season and a minimum of one weeks rental at any time. Midweek to midweek rentals are possible out of the summer months. Longer winter lets are available up to 3 months. There are no facilities for babies although these can be provided at a small extra cost via the caretaker guardians, if ordered in advance. The location is quiet and private, enjoying a lovely sunny garden in a village with lots of facilities and halfway between Beziers and the Mediterranean beaches.

The villa benefits from a ground floor double bedroom with direct access to the terrace and a bathroom. Upstairs has 3 double bedrooms the largest also having a bed settee in addition, with also a shower room, with washbasin and W.C.

Conditions

Payment can be made in £sterling or Euros, in the UK and debit or credit cards can be used via the Paypal system, which will incur an additional charge. To reserve there is a requirement to return the booking form we will email you along with payment of 33% of the rental. The balance and the refundable security bond is required on all reservations (£270 or 300€) payable 4 weeks prior to arrival.

Reservation is Saturday to Saturday in peak season with flexible changeover days outside of June July and August, with a minimum of one weeks rental with all reservations.

The Languedoc-Roussillon / Herault region

Sauvian is a small village between Beziers and the Mediterranean Sea in the Western Herault, an area known as Cathar country steeped in history from the Greek and Roman periods as well as during its turbulent periods during the Midde ages. Beziers is also known as the wine capital of the Languedoc Roussillon with close by the famous wine regions of St Chinian, Faugeres and Minervois with some great wines and beautiful countryside, and the mountains of the Pyrenees just a short drive away.

The Beziers / Sauvian area

The village centre was on the old Roman road from Italy to Spain, the Via Domitia with an old way marker still to be seen in the centre of the village on the green in front of the church. The city of Beziers is also 5 minutes away by car and is steeped in Occitane and Cathar history, also playing host to one of the largest street festivals of the year in Mid August , the feria which goes on for 5 days!! There are many other such events in all villages with free concerts on the beach in Valras most nights of the year, the city of Carcassone not far away, the Pont du Gard near Ales, the Knights Templar churches best represented in the village in the Herault valley at St Guilhem le Dessert, the Cathar castles and towns and the mountains of the Pyrennees.

We found wonderful beaches as far away as the Cote Vermeille, visited Carcassone, biked along the Canal du Midi amongst other things!
