Besse is a very pretty medieval town in the Puy de Dome. Just 10 km from Murol and its castle it lies in the heart of the Massif du Sancy. The house, which comfortably sleeps 6 people, is in the perfect place for winter sports and summer walking, hiking and biking.

The Limousin / Auvergne / Puy-de-Dome region
The Auvergne is a fantastic place for a holiday whatever the time of year. It is a region of clean air, fresh water and mountains. There is everything for the outdoor enthusiast, a totally relaxing atmosphere and all the culture and shoppping you could wish for in Clermont Ferrand and Issoire. The church architecture is particularly interesting and the spa towns such as La Bourboule and Mont Dore are well worth a visit. The climate of the region is one of proper seasons - Autumn is a fabulous time to visit as the trees turn red and gold and auburn, Summer is warm and sunny, and Winter offers great skiing in the resort of Super Besse. In Spring the fields are full of wild flowers and poppies. There is enough space for everyone to have a wonderful time.
Besse et St Anastaise area
Besse is a lovely medieval town of winding streets and squares with fountains. There are cafes, bars and restaurants and a great street market every Monday . The region itself is perfect for walking, biking, horse-riding as well as visiting the numerous chateaux and churches. Besse is only 10/15 minutes drive from the ski resort of Super Besse and the free bus will even take you there and bring you back!
How to get there
Driving - take the A75 south from Clermont Ferrand; exit junction 6 direction Besse. Pass Champeix then follow signs to Besse.
Air - cheap flights to St. Etienne ( about 2 hours drive)
