Our self-catering Chalet close to the main house has stunning views overlooking the River Tweed and Berwick's famous bridges. It is suitable for two couples or a family. It's really quite a unique space, used by our own family and friends and filled with our books and things we like. It's a place you can relax in as it's rather 'rough and ready' with older furniture and dated decoration. This however adds to its charm as it's welcoming and friendly and you can really relax without worrying about loud music, the children or the dog. The property is 2 minutes from the station and 10 minutes' walk from the town centre. It's the perfect place for starting a walk or catching a bus to visit the surroundings. Close to cafes, pubs and shops, and If you don't want to cook there are several take-aways in town.

This could be a really good secluded place for musicians to get together as there is a piano and space for ensembles.

Equally ideal for a young family sharing their holiday with grandparents.

The chalet is available by the week, changeover Friday, and long weekend or mid-week breaks.

Berwick-upon-Tweed is 2 miles from the English/Scottish border. Located in some of Britain's most beautiful countryside, Berwick is half a mile from the A1 and the East Coast and Cross Country trains pass through the station (London under 4 hours, Edinburgh and Newcastle both around 50 mins.

Berwick boasts stunning beaches, the Maltings Theatre and Cinema, a great selection of shops, restaurants and pubs as well as charming and unspoiled architecture, including the historic Barracks and a rare example of a parish church built during the time of Oliver Cromwell. Berwick's centre is surrounded by one of Britain's best preserved Elizabethan town walls, from which visitors can enjoy a fantastic view of the town, the sea and the River Tweed.

A path leads through the adjacent public gardens down to the River Tweed; enjoy a stroll along the riverside to the town.

Although private and secluded, our house is ten minutes' walk from the town centre.


We are a short drive or bus journey (or a bike ride on a fine day!) from such beautiful and diverse locations as the Holy Island of Lindisfarne, Ford & Etal Estate, Bamburgh, Dunstanburgh, Alnwick, Norham and Warkworth castles, Paxton House, Manderston House, Alnwick Gardens and St Abbs Head Lighthouse. Walk along the coast or head inland to explore the rolling hills of the Scottish Borders or the wild countryside of Northumberland. We are within easy reach of such charming places as Duns, Coldstream and Kelso, Craster, Seahouses and Eyemouth.
