Karl Marx Allee is a classic street and as Berlin as it gets. The mix of lively modern metropolitan city; historical and cultural wealth; buzzing restaurant and nightlife; lush parks; youthful, innovative artistry and powerful yet delicate communistic architecture can only be found here.
Karl Marx Allee is in the heart of modernized Central Berlin's eastern parts and hosts a range of qualities which make it the most interesting location in this dynamic city. A real Berlin experience starts and ends at this great boulevard. To miss it is to miss its soul. Make your stay an authentic and genuine one! Make this your Berlin home!
This spacious and light 2 room apartment is situated within walking distance of the commercial centres and transport hubs of Alexanderplatz and Ostbahnhof. The 2 large balconies face a relaxing and quiet park on the south, and the majestic Karl Marx Allee and another park on the north.
The house characterizes Berlin so strongly that it has been chosen for 6 major Film & TV productions in the last 3 years including Bourne Supremacy (starring Matt Damon). It is rigorously built and includes an elevator. The flat is quiet and not disturbed by outdoor sounds and the air is fresh due to the many parks around.
The apartment is fully equipped with Satellite-TV, DVD player with an extensive film catalogue, computer with broadband Internet (free to use), king size bed, washing machine, bath tub (hot water is immediate with good pressure) and kitchen with dish washer, microwave oven, refrigerator, freezer, water boiler and all the tools and cutlery you need to make your own food and have a beautiful breakfast or dinner on the balcony. It is set a comfortable distance away from surrounding houses so there is no insight to the apartment. Parking is easy and free.
Karl Marx Allee was built by the East German communists to make a grandiose impression rather than to solve traffic problems, so in spite of it being the widest street (90 meters) in Germany it is surprisingly calm, friendly to walk along and without constant heavy traffic. The name of the district is Friedrichshain, it borders Mitte, Prenzlauer Berg and Kreuzberg. The underground station (U5 Weberwiese) is only 50 meters away from the front door.
Within 5 minutes walk you have the following commodities - Ostbahnhof, Grocery Stores (German & Asian), High-class Gym, Tyrol restaurant, Greek restaurant, Czech restaurant, Indian restaurant, Italian restaurant, Chinese restaurant, Cajun Restaurant, Steakhouse, Typical Charming German Beer Garden, Fast Food Joints, Numerous Bars and cafés, Parks, Barber shop, Drug store, Theatre, Video & DVD rental, ATM/Cash machine, Bowling / Pool and Game Arcade, Long Distance Phone Service, Cinema, Shopping centres, Fleamarkets and more.
Within 20 minute walk you have the following commodities - Famous restaurant and party street, Simon Dach Strasse, the large Friedrichshain Volkspark, Alexanderplatz shopping areas, the Berlin landmark No.1 - the 368m tall Fernsehturm with revolving restaurant on top, Old Town with the famous Rote Rathaus and several cozy restaurants and beer gardens, Circus, Spree river with numerous beach cafés set in the sand, the 1 kilometer long Eastside Gallery (the only part left of the Berlin wall), the trendy Fritz Club and famous club Café Moskau, supermarket Metro, Swimming Hall, Casino, the most modern concert stadium in Europe (o2), the classic Kinopolis Cinema, Sea World, Oberbaumbrücke (arguably the most beautiful bridge in Berlin).

The Brandenburg/Berlin region
Most people will be familiar with the Brandenburg Gate topped by its triumphal chariot, the Victory Column and Charlottenburg Palace, but this lively metropolis is difficult to define - Berlin is many cities in one. Covering an area the size of Munich, Stuttgart and Frankfurt am Main put together, Berlin is an exciting conglomeration of very different districts, centres and suburbs, each with its own character. Berlin is a cosmopolitan city with a turbulent past.
Berlin / Central Berlin area
- Living in the West…
Berlin is a unique city in more aspects than any other in the world. When you are here, make sure you live in an area where you can fully experience that.
West Berlin (Charlottenburg, Moabit) is conventional and basically the same as any other large West German city such as Hamburg, Stuttgart, Dortmund etc. The West is worth a visit but not to hang around. Living there will not make your stay in Berlin as special as it should.
Considering that the Eastern parts today are as modernly equipped as the Western parts, there is really no reason to stay in the West.
- Living in Mitte (the district between West and East)…
Mitte includes famous places such as Potsdamer Platz, Unter den Linden and Brandenburger Tor that are a must for any tourist. Apart from that, Mitte has turned into an expensive tourist ghetto without charm. Spending time in Mitte is a good thing, but spending too much time is not. Letting Mitte represent the face of Berlin will leave the visitor with a hollow impression of Berlin, as the visitor will miss the real Berlin life which has given the city its splendid reputation.
- Living in a hotel…
Why stay in a small standardized hotel room when you can have a genuine Berliner apartment all to yourself for the same price?
