Home description
Ideally located, this first floor, one-bedroom flat is in a well looked after turn of the century house in the centre of Berlin. It has stripped wooden floors throughout, high ceilings and period features that altogether offer a comfortable, romantic stay in a typical traditional Berlin apartment. The apartment is very light and airy and furnished with a mix of contemporary styles and antique pieces.
The local area has some great cafes, family-run restaurants and bars and has a quiet familiar feel to it. Within walking distance are interesting street markets (including the famous "Winterfeldtplatz") and one of Berlin's oldest bars, Leydicke.

The Brandenburg/Berlin region
The area surrounding Berlin has many interesting sights worthy of a trip out of the city. Potsdam, about an hour from Berlin, but reachable on the S-Bahn (overground tube system), has a quaint old town centre and over-the-top palaces and parks. An hour and a half away is Lutherstadt Wittenberg famous for being the cradle of German protestant church. The old town is worth a visit. Poland is also not far away! Just over an hour from Berlin is Frankfurt (Oder) right on the border with Poland. The main non-town specific sights around Berlin are the numerous lakes. The Brandenburg area is full of lakes and waterways, often through forested areas. The famous Spreewald area is definitely worth a visit for nature reserves, boating and swimming.
Berlin / Central Berlin area
There are a million and one things to do in Berlin! There is simply so much history! From Prussian glory to Nazi past, from the Wall to reunification and becoming the German capital again. Visit the Reichstag, see where the Wall once was, visit Checkpoint Charlie, climb the TV Tower in the East, shop in the KdW (Harrods of Germany!), see the new Sony Centre at Potsdamer Platz. Berlin is always changing and there is always so much to do and see. We provide insider tips in the welcome pack in the apartment and will of course help point you in the right direction.
How to get there
Budget airlines (easy jet, ryan air etc) fly direct from UK, Spain, Italy etc. Both airports (Schoenefeld and Tegel) are very easily reached from the apartment. The nearest tube station goes directly to Rudow for a direct bus link to Schoenefeld Airport (SXF) and to Jakob Kaiser Platz for the bus directly to Tegel Airport (TXL). Detailed directions on request. No need to hire a car. Berlin's transport system is fantastic!

Guestbook for Central location, period flat
"Lovely flat in quiet part of Berlin, easy to access the rest of the city. The owner is friendly and helpful." Mrs. Janet F.
"A very comfortable and elegantly appointed flat which was a perfect base for exploring Berlin. Jeremy went to a great deal of trouble to ensure that we had everything we could possibly need to enjoy our stay. Highly recommended." Mrs. Robyn O.
"The flat is in a quiet zone with few shop in the neighborough. Jeremy ,the ownner, was very nice and gave us some bikes and this allowed us to move without problem. The flat is clean and well equipped and Jeremy gave us useful indication to explore the city.We recommend the flat for a stay in Berlin." Mr. Giuseppe C.
"We stayed at the Berlin flat for a week in mid July. It is situated in an excellent location; close to both S and U Bahn stations but is blissfully quiet on an evening. There are local bars close by (our favourite was a cocktail bar opposite train bar!) and every area of the city is easily accessible via the public transport system. There are supermarkets 5 minutes away and the kitchen is very well equipped, ideal if you want to eat in as we did on a couple of nights. Every detail is thought of and we made use of the DVD collection and ipod dock! We will certainly consider using your properties elsewhere after this experience. Thanks again." Andrew and Becca
