The Central England/Cotswolds region

The Cotswolds is renowned for its honey-coloured pretty villages and beautiful rolling landscape. Designated as the largest Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in England and Wales, the Cotswolds has so much to offer all the family from fantastic pubs ranging from traditional inns to gastropubs, great days out with the children and stylish and historic market towns to wander around and enjoy a little shopping.

Berkeley, Gloucestershire

South Gloucestershire is a wonderful part of the UK set in rolling countryside, rural yet close to the Regency towns of Cheltenham and Bath and with Bristol just 15 minutes away. There is so much to do nearby and just a few are mentioned below.

On your Doorstep

Berkeley Castle - A fairy tale Castle and one of the most remarkable buildings in the country.

Visit the butterfly house, admire the gardens and tour the dungeon where Edward II was held prisoner and later murdered - always popular with the children!

Whitcliff Deer Park - Step out from Pedington Manor and wander across to the deer park for stunning views back to Pedington, over the Vale of Berkeley on one side and the River Severn on the other. The deer are usually easy to spot, including some 'white harts'.

Slimbridge Wildfowl and Wetlands - A visit is a completely unique experience from one month to the next with the world's biggest colection of swans, ducks and geese. Set in 120 acres with lots of family activities all year round. Visit the Hanson Discovery Centre, the Waterside Restaurant, cinema and the Sloane Observation Tower. Wild swans from Russia come every winter and 6 types of flamingos visit in the summer.

Nearby visit Gloucester Quays - perfect for a day's designer shopping or spend a fun-filled and stimulating day at Bristol Zoo.

For a great day out visit Cheltenham and Bath, two wonderful Regency towns.
