About the home

Casa Pies Cortos is a beautiful and historic Catalan farmhouse, which has roots dating back to the 17th century. The location and views are excellent, and the holiday house has a large and lovely swimming pool, covered terrace with outdoor kitchen and green and well-kept garden. The bedrooms are very spacious and elegant. In total there is room for 15 persons in 7 bedrooms. This property fits therefore perfectly for one or more families on holiday together.

The outdoor areas are very fine, as there is a large swimming pool with sun loungers and a covered terrace with outdoor kitchen right next to. The pool can especially be enjoyed in the daytime, when the Catalan heat can be supplemented with a dive in the refreshing water. It is also fenced, which is a very nice when you have young children on holiday. The covered terrace has a sink, BBQ grills, firewood and tools - Here you can cook homemade food. It can then be enjoyed at the very long and beautiful wooden table next to.
There are plenty of facilities in the garden: Swings, a basketball, table tennis, table football and plenty of space. Moreover, the old and large oak trees that grow around give many shady corners where you really can relax.

The view is also very great. It can be enjoyed from almost anywhere on the site, and the sight of the varied landscape of rocks, woods and fields can be quite fascinating. There is also a very calm and peaceful atmosphere that exists in the Catalan country house located in the mountains.

The indoor facilities are of very high quality. The authentic atmosphere is still preserved, while things like dishwasher, washing machine and beautiful bedrooms have been added. In total there is room for 15 people spread out in 6 doubles and 1 triple room. General for these is in particular that there is, firstly, a high ceiling, and secondly, they are made in a very elegant design. There is also room for 5 extra beds.
Casa Pies Cortos has a total of 3 full bathrooms.
The living room has TV, HiFi and fireplace. This can be enjoyed in leather sofas in a cozy little corner.
The kitchen is modern, but it still has classic furnishings. It has among others a fridge, a stove, an electric oven, a dishwasher, a washing machine and a microwave.

The area has many short and long hiking trails. One of them is a small path on 2.5 km, which leads all the way down to the cozy town Gironella.
There is internet in the house.

The Costa Brava/Catalonia/Barcelona region

The house which is an authentic Catalan limestone villa, modernised with respect for the original style, is situated in the Bergueda region, where the Llobregat-river winds it is way from the mountains down toward Barcelona. The house provides a perfect base for relaxation. Read a book, take a swim in the pool and enjoy the hot summer nights on the terrace with a glass of the local cava or red wine from the nearby Penedes district.

The landscape at the entrance to the Pyrenees is dominated by small rivers, hills, fields and forest, which provides excellent conditions for a variety of sports- and outdoor activities, such as hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking, angling, canoeing, river crafting or perhaps a visit to the owners farm.

Furthermore the central location in Catalonia makes every corner of province accessible in one-day excursions. From the Dali-museum in the north, the Costa Brava coastline and Barcelona in the south and further south Tarragon with its amphitheatre and universal studios amusement park for the kids. A generous and cosy region, with true cultural, gastronomical, artistic, historical, traditional and legendary treasures. Also a region for the playful who loves sport activities.

In the winter, the ski-resorts in Andorra and the Pyrenees is only a 45 minutes drive away. In the summer you can enjoy the tracks of the Pyrenees or for the adventures paragliding or climbing.
The spring (march-may) in Catalonia is sunny, green and comfortable warm. The daily temp. reaches 16-22 degrees.

The autumn (Sep.-Nov) is very warm in the beginning (Sep.) with a daily average temp. reaching 27 degrees. October and November has an average temp. starting at 22 in October ending with 17 in November.

Distances: Barcelona 95 km. - Costa Brava 110 km. - Andorra 100 km - shops and restaurants: 3 km. - Beach 100 km.

Quite a large town on the edge of the
Pyrenees, where you’ll find big supermarkets, really nice restaurants,
shopping areas, and bars. It is also a very pretty town with many really
good sites.

Manresa: 30 km. from Casa Pies Cortos
The largest nearby town with 66.879 inh. By experiencing the history of Manresa, you will also experience the history of Cataloniaas they both coincided in their moments of greatest splendour. Manresais a town which
has been shaped by its three most intense historic moments: . There are plenty of restaurants, bars and discothèques in Manresa.

Vic:40 km from Casa Pies cortos
A beautiful maintained historical town., also mentioned as the most Catalan town in Catalonia. Traditional Market on the Main Square: every Tuesday and Saturday in the morning (10-14) (See photo J) The town has plenty of discothèques and bars that the young ones can attend.

Barcelona, Girona and Costa Brava is all situated around 100 km. from the house. We are willing to pass on our tips regarding these cities if you should be interested.
