About the home

- The property is just 5 minutes by car from the bastide town of Castillonnes with shops, restaurants, a cinema
and a weekly Tuesday market. It is an ideal base for visiting the beautiful Dordogne valley as well as the many
vineyards nearby. There are enjoyable walks through the surrounding rolling countryside.
- In addition to the two bedrooms there is a lounge, study, dining room and a spacious covered terrace at the
entrance.
- From the lounge you step out onto a small shaded terrace while there is also a large south facing open patio
ideal for soaking up the sun.

The accommodation is all on one level. There is a large lounge with a tiled floor, a wood burning stove ,beams and French doors to the garden.

The separate dining room seats 6.

The kitchen is equipped with a gas/electric hob, an electric oven,fridge freezer and microwave.

The two bedrooms both have double beds.

In the entrance hall there is a coat cupboard.

Further details outdoors:
Large terrace, under the trees, to the front of the house with a long table for outdoor dining (seats 6). Parking for 2 cars in the drive beside the house.

Garden of about an acre is mainly grass, unfenced with numerous trees including a magnificent oak, various conifers, fruit trees and two areas of bamboo.

The property boundaries are largely denoted by vines, bushes and trees.

Conditions

Deposit of 25% due at time of booking, balance due 8 weeks before your stay.Bookings within 8 weeks to be paid in full at the time of booking.

Refundable deposit of £250 payable to cover breakages.

The Aquitaine / Dordogne / Dordogne region

The area usually experiences hot summers and from the property the vineyards of Bergerac and Duras are easily accessible and the charming village of St Emilion near Bordeaux is only an hours drive away.

There are also some beautiful bastide towns to visit nearby and the stunning scenery and villages of the Dordogne valley make ideal excursions.

The Bergerac / Castillonnes, Bergerac area

Castillonnes is a historic bastide town in an elevated position with an attractive square and a range of shops and a cinema.Sports facilities include a swimming pool and tennis courts. Bergerac, situated on the Dordogne river is 25km away and has more extensive shopping and a historic old town, well worth a visit.

As to be expected in this gastronomic region there is a good choice of restaurants serving traditional cuisine both in Castillonnes and surrounding towns, particularly Issegeac which also has a lively Sunday Market.

25 minutes drive from Bergerac Airport which is served by Ryanair and Flybe from several UK airports while Transavia have flights from Amsterdam.

Herz , Avis and Europcar together with some local firms offer car rentals from the airport.

By car, the property can be reached in around 7-10 hours driving time from the French ferry ports.
