The Aquitaine / Dordogne / Dordogne region

The Dordogne is a beautifully wooded area mixed with vineyards and fields
There is a great deal to do in this area, canoeing, fishing, horse riding and much more.
Lots of restaurants all over the area serving fantastic food and wines local to the region and various grenier's and brochante's (car boot and antique sales)
The climate is hot in the summer at least 10 degrees hotter than britain
It is a tranquill area suitable for people who enjoy walking but suits families with children also
There are a great deal of churches and buildings of interest

Bergerac / Les Leches area

An extremely picturesque market town 16th/17th century of great architectural interest on the River Dordogne
There are many festivals and night markets moving from village to village
Bergerac is excellent for clothes shoping and outdoor cafe/ restaurants
There are a number of supermarkets close to the house in Mussidan but Sundays they are mostly only open in the morning
The reason we chose this area is because it is picturesque, the sunny climate it is tranquill but with lots of things available to suit all ages
