Home description

A delightful and peaceful single storey cottage nestling amongst the vines of Ribagnac just 4km from the Chateau town of Monbazillac and only ten minutes drive from Bergerac Airport. Three bedrooms all with beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. Two twin bedded rooms and one double room, sleeping six people. Fully equipped kitchen with fridge freezer, gas hob, electric oven, microwave and washing machine. Spacious living and dining area with comfortable sofas, wood burning stove, TV with UK channels, DVD and CD/radio cassette player. Large garden with swimming pool (8m x 4m), patio area and barbecue with splendid views all around. Two adult bikes available.

The Aquitaine / Dordogne / Dordogne region

The town of Bergerac is a mere 10 Kms away and provides shops, cafes, restaurants, markets and many other tourist attractions, such as museums, and boat trips.

St Foy le Grande which has many shops, bars and restaurants and a large Saturday market ( 20 kms )

During July and August Eymet boasts a very popular night market.

Further along the Dordogne river, are the world famous caves of Les Eyzes, historic villages of Roque Gageac, Beynac and Domme.

Local Attractions - Chateau Monbazillac is within 4 kms of Maison Jaspe and it is owned by the local wine growers co-operative, famous for its sweet dessert wine.

Base de Loisir is within 3kms this is a superb leisure lake with sandy beach water slide, canoes and pedalos, picnic tables, a bar, fishing, swimming and tennis, ideal for all ages.
Chateau de Vigier an 18 hole par 72 golf course with two restaurants and a good selection of local wines including their own wine label ( 18 kms)

There are many superb annual wine fairs, food festivals and events within the area, such as Bastille Day, Table de Cyrano and numerous others, if you wish your holiday to coincide with one we will be happy to provide dates and information


Bergerac / Ribagnac area

Ribagnac is a small peaceful village situated close to Monbazillac in the heart of the Dordogne wine making region. The village itself has a small shop which sells fresh bread and bare essentials. The nearest supermarkets are 4km away in Bouniages and Monbazillac. There is also a supermarket in Sigoules, 10km away

Maison Jaspe is only a 10 minute drive ( 8 kms) from Bergerac Airport or 1 1/2 hours from Bordeaux Airport.

Bergerac itself is a large French market town, nestled on the banks of the Dordogne it offers numerous top quality restaurants, markets, shops and many other activities. It is often known as the 'Gateway to the Dordogne'.
A superb base to explore the area or just relax amidst the vineyards


How to get there

Getting to “Maison JASP” couldn’t be easier,

By Air there are now 8 flights a day to Bergerac airport, a mere 8 kms away, ( London Stanstead, Birmingham, Southampton, Exeter, Leeds Bradford, Liverpool, East Midlands and Bristol) (Ryanair, flybe )

Car hire is recommended and can be arranged from Begerac airport.

With also many direct flights to Bordeaux airport which is approximately 1 1/2 hours drive to Maison Jaspe

By rail, the nearest TGV line is at Libourne 45 min away.

This is the perfect location for visitors wishing to explore the picturesque and historic Dordogne region, as it is within easy driving distance of Bergerac, Beynac, Sarlat, Emyet, Saint Foy La Grande, Perigueux and St Emilion.
